LB Palaie Gaoteote (Official Thread)

EDIT: Palaie's younger brother, Ma'a (.9318 rating, #154 overall prospect), has been committed to Southern Cal since February 27, 2018. After Palaie entered the transfer portal, there were eight quick crystal ball flips for Ma'a, from Southern Cal to Michigan State. Ma'a would be a great pick up for Sparty; adding Palaie as well would be a real coup for Mel Tucker.

A PORTAL HAS OPENED.

I have no idea if there's any real interest here – one-sided or two – but I can tell you that Ryan Day appears to be the first coach he followed on Twitter after the news broke (I'm putting that journalism degree to great use, I know).

I thought he already picked a school.
Folks thought that he was going to announce for Texas, but that no longer seems to be the case.

However, that pursuit of Gaoteote may have hit a major roadblock in recent days, when, per a report from Horns247's Mike Roach, the Ohio State Buckeyes became involved in his recruitment.

With the Buckeyes now involved, the Longhorns, per Roach are not only no longer considered the runaway favorites for the linebacker's services, but likely seen as the underdog's in the pursuit behind the defending Big 10 champions.

Gaoteote, who was one of the top linebacker recruits in the country coming out of Bishop Gorman High School (Las Vegas, NV), originally committed to the Trojans in the 2018 recruiting cycle.

Cont’d ...
