LB Mike Mitchell (transfer to Texas Tech, transfer to Southeastern FL)

13 posts and every single one is whining and full of negativity. Maybe get some meds.

Aren't you concerned? I'm concerned. Very very concerned. This is all terribly worrisome.

To be clear, I'm not suggesting his dad is not ill and nobody should even speculate on that. I am just saying two things: 1) Mike not playing this year was a serious blunder that wasn't fair to him or the 2013-14 team; and 2) Even if his dad was not ill, I would not be surprised if Mike was considering a transfer. As much as you want to be a team player and patient, if you know you should be playing ahead of some guys and get redshirted, it doesn't tend to make you very happy to ride the bench.

I just really hope this turns out to be a false rumor all around...I was so excited to see Mike play next year.

At the very least you're questioning the fact that his father is ill. How is it that you're in a better position to know who should play and who shouldn't than the coaches?

Based on the minutes Cam Williams recieved. I'm not trying to bash Cam...but he constantly looked lost. I just can't see that Mike would have been any worse. There is a legitimate argument to be made that he shouldn't have redshirted. I mean, we heard that the second half of the season Mike was making noise at practice. Didn't hear a single peep about Cam.

Legitimate argument to be made by whom? Or who? (I don't know proper English works.)

Not one of us.

Sucks for Mike, I hope his dad is ok and pulls through.....

for all the speculation about playing time and stuff... refer to Unionfutura's post #10083/page 673 ( i think) in the tidbits discussion in the mill... I would repost but i'm unsure of the rules and bringing mill info out in to the forum

No I am not. That is not verified either as far as I can tell, so I am saying I have no clue.

And I am really not saying anything really crazy here, the position outside of Shazier could not have got much worse and UFM himself almost pulled the redshirt.

His father's illness was well documented throughout his recruitment. He almost stayed closer to home due to it. His father can't travel by plane, either.

Did not realize that and I certainly cannot blame Mike one bit for going back home...I would do the same most likely. Aside from that, I was never happy with the Mitchell redshirt and I think it might have cost us this season. I can't say for sure, but I'm strongly inclined to think he would have been a hell of an improvement over Cam Williams and likely Grant/Perry. If Mike ran around lost and missed tackles, then it would have been a push.
