And SMU to Plano <4 miles; TCU to Plano about 10 miles. Playing time? Treatment by Coaches? Academic Rigor? Mods delete if inappropriate, please.

Regardless, hope he does well at whatever he does. Mike impressed me during his recruiting, and nothing has changed that. Go Bucks

"What about Ohio State? What was the reason behind leaving?

Honestly, a lot of it had to do with my family. My dad’s health isn’t great. It wasn’t as bad when I left (for Ohio State), and for a while it seemed to be getting better. But now, it’s kind of not as good. Plus, I had an injury that really limited me on the field last year as well.

But really, it was mostly about my family, about being back in Texas and being closer to them, being around them as much as I can."

Having done five years in Texas, I understand his sentiments. Texas is for Texans, although some of us exist there for a spell. Almost like the Klingons, they have to return home to rejuvenate. Texas ways are special, and not readily duplicated in other places, and the state bond is in many ways like those that bind us Buckeyes to tOSU. Always strong, always proud of Texas. He was a great kid during his recruitment, and that hasn't changed my impression, but maybe he didn't feel as 'at home' in the snow as he would have liked. Wouldn't be the first time a kid got homesick. Texas Tech certainly isn't the big stage that tOSU is, nor will the exposure be as great, but he'll have 3 years of eligibility left when he gets there, and should have a nice career. Not sure I'd like to live in Lubbock (Texans call them the 'Goat Ropers'), not sure why, most all of Texas is pretty flat and scraggly. Go Bucks!

Sorry, but I've got to nerd out a bit. Klingons don't need to go home to recharge, Vulcans (kind of) do.

I've always liked Mike and I wish him the best. Granted I wanted to see him tear it up here, I truly hope he lights the world on fire in Lubbock

Also, if he had an injury that prevented him playing last year, that would make a lot more sense to me.

I have zero problem with Mike going to Tech for family health reasons.

As an military guy I have recently been stationed overseas while my mother suffered from MS and my father from Leukemia; there wasn't much I could do. Being in the same state or at least close by makes a world of difference for anyone with ailing parents (most people still live near their hometowns and will never understand this struggle). I applaud Mike for going home and still playing big time D1 ball.
