Why would he leave a DC job to come to tOSU as LB coach..
Because we could offer way more moneyWhy would he leave a DC job to come to tOSU as LB coach..
If he got Co DC and LB Coach title, I would think it’s a pretty decent raise, and he’d be coaching for the team he played for. He would be an absolutely excellent hire if they could pull it off.Why would he leave a DC job to come to tOSU as LB coach..
Don’t disagree and would love to see it. I will be surprised if it happens. If he got Co DC and LB Coach title, I would think it’s a pretty decent raise, and he’d be coaching for the team he played for. He would be an absolutely excellent hire if they could pull it off.
Titles are important when you’re climbing the ladder. I would have to believe he would minimally need a Co-DC title.Because we could offer way more money
Usually. But sometimes if mama calls you home...Titles are important when you’re climbing the ladder. I would have to believe he would minimally need a Co-DC title.
He has done a great job at UC. tonight was about talent gap, not scheme. if OSU calls, I am certain he takes it.

The other factor is UCF has had a good system in place for that offense for a few years now. I watched a little bit of the game and it looked like the defense at least tackled well and were hitting hard when they could...which is a lot more than I’ve seen out of tOSU back seven this year.
Fickell has built a nice defensive staff with himself and Freeman handling the defense, and also has Mike Mickens as the CBs coach. He was top 5 in the country in INTs in one of their best BK years.
I agree with this sentiment. I think like most fan bases, fans want to see familiar faces on the sideline as coaches, and would love to see a former player. You hear it all the time from so many fan bases, hire an ex star player at their respective position, and it'll instantly become a coaching and recruiting boon. But the problem is, most don't have coaching experience. I think you see with Free man(same with Hartline), a guy who has showed that he can coach up a position, and has UC playing some good defense, and he has more experience with the CFB game than Davis. So we’re all sick of Urban hiring buddies who are not qualified for their jobs. The answer is to hire someone just because he played here and give him Co-DC after less than 2 years as a DC a Cincinnati?
How is “Urban’s friend” any different than “former player” here? Is this truly because you guys think he’s the best man available or just because we all love former players?
