OSU's Freeman now unsure on draft decision

Ohio State already knew it could lose four high-profile juniors to the pros, and one player who had said he planned to come back is now rethinking that decision.
In the aftermath of Ohio State's stinging 38-24 defeat to LSU, junior linebacker Marcus Freeman revealed he's no longer certain about returning next season.

"You never want to leave college football like this," he said. "You never want to leave a loser. But you just have to take time to think about that (decision).
"I think I'm going to go back and talk to my family and see what's best for me in the next couple days."

Grad and Oregon make great points.. Since Freeman won't have to come off the field on passing downs or running downs that will add value. Plus he is capable of having a really good combine and those numbers alone could make him a first day pick but I still think he will be an early day 2 pick.

IMO him leaving would be somewhat of a mistake.

I don't doubt that he couldn't be successful in the NFL at this point, but he could really benefit from a senior year.

Plus, tOSU is looking to be possibly even better next year, especially if both Freeman and Lauranaitis come back.

Hopefully Malcolm coming back will swing these guys to stay with him.

I think Freeman more than anyone could benefit from a senior year at tOSU

I'm not sure that "more than anyone" is exactly true - though certainly more than the big 3 of JL, MJ and VG. Boekman, Boone and Robiskie could certainly all benefit greatly from another year of school, but I do agree that Marcus could benefit from another year.

I'd say if the early injuries had not occurred for Marcus, that he'd be gone. As it is he's probably 60-40 on coming back. The economy in Dayton is freaking horrible as a lot of you know so finances are the only thing still pushing him towards going. I'm pretty sure his emotions want him back at tOSU but his family is well...family. I know he has very strong family convictions towards what his role is now and will be in the future.

We'll support you either way Marcus. Just make the right decision based on what you feel is best.
