Thanks Mili,
my old eyes or camera angles weren't the best for seeing how well Josh played replacing Sabino....didn't hear his name much.

By the way, Buchtelgrad's post of the 'before' and 'after' of Josh is pretty darn amazing in terms of muscle build-up. I expect that steroid testing is still being done (I'm sure it is), so WOW if one can build up that amount of muscle on weights alone.......no wonder the OL dropped 500+ pounds of fat and added 600+ pounds of muscle.....

He added 18 pounds of muscle in 6months. And really he didn't get much "bigger" he just really toned up and turned what fat he did have (which wasn't much) into muscle. Going from a high school level workout regime to a major D1 programs, along with a nutritionist will certainly do that to a young man. I imagine most football players make the most progress in transforming their bodies in the first 6months-1year.

Don't overlook the addition of the nutrition program too.

Saw someone already mention this, but if Perry can hold down the fort for these next few games, we might have a 3.5 year starter in our hands. We'll need a youth movement on defense like we had in '05 (Jenkins, Laurinaitis, Washington, etc.) if we want to contend for the title next year, and Perry should be one of them.

Josh played quite admirably replacing Sabino Saturday. I think he'll do just fine while Sabino is out. Side note, he looked a lot taller out there than I expected...he dwarfed our corners/safeties when he was near them.

Would be nice if his future holds what became of our last young freshman LBer that stepped in for an injured veteran in a big game...

I agree. He played pretty well. He didn't bring attention to himself out there. Meaning, he didn't present himself as a weakness for them to attack. I think he did a great job in pass coverage too. He kept his eyes in the backfield, but he never let the tight end run clean past him. He rerouted a few WR's too on key plays. I think he's going to be a good one.

What I noticed about Perry was when they ran the zone read his way...he took his blocker, drove him 3 yards back, and rerouted the runners path and ultimately lead to the stop. Doesn't show up in the stat book, but he did his 1/11 out there for sure and we need more of that. I can't wait to see how he does this weekend.

Sophomore Joshua Perry looks more the part of an outside linebacker than last year when he played on special teams and as a defensive sub. That?s because the 6-foot-4 Perry said he now weighs 243 pounds, up 23 from when he arrived at Ohio State in late 2012. Perry said the gain was because of ?everything; coach Mick?s program is the best in the nation,? referring to the weightlifting, conditioning and nutrition programs set up by Mickey Marotti, assistant athletic director for football sports performance.

?You eat, you go hard, you do what he tells you, and then your body changes,? Perry said. ?That?s about it.?
