Never seen an interview with him before. Likable guy with strong competitive drive and work ethic. Well spoken.

Honestly, you should go back through his thread and watch a few. It's a pure pleasure to see and hear a young man who is 150% Buckeye give his thoughts to the media. There have been a number of great athletes who have come through the program over the years. Simon is more than a great athlete, he is a Great One (formal).

Wish that we could have four more years with John. I would be very proud if my boys were to become the competitor (in their choice of endeavors) that John is.

I have said and will always hold, as a journalist/student who has interviewed tens if not hundreds of student athletes, I would take 11 John Simon's on either side of the ball. Not only a hard worker and talented, but the kind of guy that will bleed scarlet and gray regardless. John Simon bleeds Scarlet & Gray and always will...not only should he be a team captain, but honestly, there is nobody that could even stack up at this point. Not a slight to other players, just a compliment to John Simon. This guy cannot deserve enough credit, no matter how much is thrown his way. I will wear a #54 jersey next season and nothing else.

Of all the players on the team in recent years, the two who stick in my head the most as being just outstanding Buckeyes we can all be proud of are John Simon and Braxton Miller. Great poise and eloquence when speaking to the media, great representatives of the University, and great athletes on the field. Wish more players were selfless like them.

According to UFM during the Spring Kickoff event at the WHAC yesterday, this could be John Simon's strength coach:

He said that John SImon was elite, and that the coaches don't need to spend a lot of time with him.
