John Kerr

Against all odds, the former St. Ignatius and Indiana linebacker recently began his official competition for playing time at linebacker as a member of the Ohio State Buckeyes. To say that it's been a long and arduous journey just for John Kerr to finally be where he is today might be somewhat of a gross understatement. But Kerr has been around the block before and he knows the challenge to earn playing time on OSU's defense this season is worthy of nothing less than his maximum effort.

I was looking for a thread on Kerr to resurrect. It seems we have written him off and that probably isn't fair.

His coments when he didn't get the OSU offer and the way he left IU indicate a bit of an attitude, but on the other hand we have a kid who is in his third year at OSU without a schollie busting his butt. We always talk about kids who want to be Buckeyes - well, here is one.
I don't recall hearing much in terms of practice reports from the past two years - which is a concern - but in LB depth disucssions his name ought to at least get a mention.
There was some speculation, but nothing concrete.....Didn't he test positive for something just before the season started last year and get suspended from the team?
