LB Freddie Lenix (Cincinnati signee; transfer to Notre Dame College)

where do you think lennix is better suited... LB or Safety?

My guess would be safety conisdering he would be very small for a linebacker.

I could see him at the OLB position, he would be one of the fastest OLB's but definately undersized. It wouldn't be a bad move to put him at SS either. Once Whitner is gone, Lennix and O'Neal (Glenvile boys) would make a great duo at the safety spots.

Sure, he's small for a linebacker, but he's a linebacker. Not a safety. Heck, if Moeller is big enough to play linebacker, there should be no questioning Lenix either.

I agree, but I also think he needs to be on the field. With his speed there's no reason for him to be on the sidelines. So if there is a linebacker ahead of him in the depth chart then heck, put him at a nickleback or a safety position. Safety's in a lot of ways can play up close to the line of scrimmage like linebackers. I don't doubt his ability.

It's really not that simple. You can't just put a LB at safety. Safety is a position where you have a lot to learn. Being a LB, he may not be used to being in coverage, which is a big part to being a safety. IMO, Lenix is a LB at the next level. I've also read that he's up to 220-225. I'll try to find the link that said that. (It also could have been something I read on here or maybe BN, so it probably won't be a very solid source. However, I wouldn't doubt it since Lenix has the frame to add that kind of weight easily).

Man, I hope everything pans out for Freddie. I also see him at OLB. If he's weighing 215 now, I think 235 is very realistic with a year of OSU S&C under his belt. Plus, the Bucks seem loaded at safety.

i see freddie as a legit cie grant type of player. it helps our team alot to have intangible players like that such as players that can play two ways as one player on the field. IE: cie grant/kenny peterson/carp
