LB Dorian Bell (transfer to Duquesne)

Pitts Tribune

Rivals.com rates Bell the nation's No. 14 prospect overall, even though the spotlight shined mostly on Pitt recruits Shayne Hale and Cameron Saddler in 2007.
Bell and Brown each have more than 20 scholarship offers, not only drawing Pitt, Penn State and West Virginia but also Florida State, Miami, Michigan and Ohio State.
"Dorian Bell, measurable-wise, has everything," Scout.com recruiting analyst Bob Lichtenfels said. "He plays the game and doesn't talk or showboat, but every time you watch a game you see No. 25. His awareness is off the charts. He's always around the ball and seldom makes mistakes.

My Take: If you've ever wanted to know what to look for in a film, watch clip #2 & 5...that change of direction and explosion off the plant is sick. Not to mention a well placed flipper to shed while still maintaining separation and balance. Play after play had me saying wow and thinking of Freddie Lenix a few years ago...Dorian's main issue, if you want to call it that, is that he is a "tweener" right now.

Another stud from Gateway.

Change of direction and explosion is exactly what I love about Jamie Wood's film as well...the thought of a defense with kids like Storm, Jordan, Dorian, Jamie, CJ, etc. seems almost too good to be true...would love to see OSU make a serious play for Dorian. Call me cautiously guarded at this early stage given our recent history with Gateway prospects...but that does not mean I am not optimistic. This one will likely play out for close to a year...

Scout $

3/24

By Bill Greene...talks about his junior season and what he is doing to improve his game. Mentions interest in Michigan, Ohio State, Florida, Florida State, Oklahoma and Penn State and talks about his contact with the OSU staff. Will take his officials and announce at the US Army game.

I know Grad has already mentioned it, but he his change of direction in and out of planting is quick as a cat...It is like there is no slowing down...He also does a good job of tackling when he doesn't have his momentum all going forward and shedding blocks, and he makes a ton of tackles behind the LOS...
