LB Dorian Bell (transfer to Duquesne)

Dorian Bell would have quite an uphill battle if he wanted to start as a freshman at Penn State, however I believe he likely does end up at tOSU and will likely start as a freshman.

There is a lot to like about Bell but it is very unlikely he'd start here as a freshman either.

Good stuff re: Penn State LBs, S&G...:rofl:

It's hard to read that and think you're taking a shot at our LB depth, and coming from a PSU fan who still thinks his school is LB U, I'm sure it is. In this day and age in the upper echelon of college football, it is awfully hard for a true freshman to come in and start from the first game on, and he'd be hard pressed to come into a situation where he would be able to do that.

If he can beat out Tyler Moeller, Brian Rolle, and Jermale Hines to be the starter on the strongside in 2009, that's awesome, but nobody is banking on it. He won't be coming to Ohio State because there is a lack of depth, because we have never been this deep at LB in my lifetime. He'll be coming to Ohio State so he can win Big Ten and national championships... something he won't be able to do at Penn State for the forseeable future.

Well said.

That being said, I'd love for him to add to our depth.

OSU/PSU LB Depth (split from Dorian Bell thread)

Cool...all those 4-star guys can help keep Penn State from getting an in-state, 5-star, probable top 3 LB recruit in the nation...while Ohio State having a couple fewer guys in the pipeline (all of similar 'star' quality, except for Sabino...he's a step up from PSU's guys) and 3 senior starters this year can give the Bucks a leg up in Bell's recruitment.

I'll friggen take it.

If the Bucks LBs in 2010 looks like...

Homan, Rolle, Moeller, Hines, Sabino, Sweat, Klein, Whiting, Bell and whoever else from this year...uh, ya I'll probably take that over whatever the Nits will be trotting out there.

I love what Bell said to Bill Kurelic in his conversation,

"Can I make a request?" I said sure. Bell then said, "Please get (Ohio State) to offer Corey (Brown)." Corey Brown is of course one of Bell's teammates. Bell said where Brown goes would not be a factor in his decision, but it would be nice if they ended up at the same school." - I got this quote from the free bucknuts forum, just to make sure there wasn't any confusion with this quote.

I love the hidden message their, he asked for the Ohio State offer to be given to Brown, saying that it would be nice if they were to end up at the same school!

THIS KID IS ALL BUCKEYE!!! I CAN'T WAIT FOR THIS WEEKEND!

Real excited on this one...Bell, Klein, and Whiting is one AMAZING LB class and we could possibly not be done yet. Couple that with Sabino and Sweat and you have LB stacked with high tier talent.

No reason to go after any more in this class...That would just be overloading depth IMO...Unless of course we would get a stud 5 star or something, but I would be very excited with a class of Klein, Bell, Whiting...

Agree with you 40, as usual, but Telfort looks very interesting as a LB/S prospect. But, getting Bell, especially this early, words cannot express! With Pryor there as well, I almost want to EXPECT the best!

Those three would be fine.. and what i love about them is that Whiting (to me) projects at the MIKE.. and Klein would fit in perfectly at AJ's old WLB position.. and Dorian seems ideal for the SAM, since we like to blitz our SAM alot, and Dorian is one of the best blitzing LBs in the country

Agreed...I was thinking of a Telfort or Jenkins if we take a 4th and they could be safeties at that. Or if Fletcher is too good to pass.

Basically agree with all you guys...

Staff doesn't like Fletcher as a LB...They see him as maybe a DT...

Also I think Telfort is a safety prospect, and I think Jenkins and Bell are the same type prospect...You take the higher rated one and call it a day...
