LB Brian Rolle (Official Thread)

He was referring to a commit.

We haven't lost him yet...the staff won't just let him go without a fight, and they have until tomorrow morning to convince him that OSU is the best place for him.

I hope you're right. Just relaying what Mr. Cassady said last night. He may have meant we lost only the kid's solid commitment, but he still said "we lost one today", so...

The nice thing is that as of tomorrow morning he will be alone with his thoughts and won't have recruiters breathing down his next and text messaging him night and day. I am still confident he will be a Buckeye.

Optimism...what a novel idea!

That wasn't directed at you Taos. Sorry for making it look that way...

Florida does not concern me unless they all of a sudden come through with an offer in the next 17 hours.

Wisconsin is only a threat because of his teammate going there.

In the end, I think he will make the choice we all hope he does.

yeah...Buster wanted the offer sent to him and it never did because Richard Washington got it. Washington signed with NC State...Buster signed with FSU....end of story

you do the math of why it went down like that (hint: Chuck Amato and Bobby Bowden)

McGlover was a last second flop...

Rolle is in an unfortunate situation...

I really think that he has always wanted a UF offer and he hasnt got one yet...He has lost his g/f and that has to be terribly hard.

I would compare this to an Ohio kid like Joe Thomas last year who we all know would of been a buckye if he had got an early offer, but we played around and offered him after he was committed and then there were lots of reports how torn he was...

BTW Wade can I get your autograph... :)

Actually, more like Stanley McClover.

Cleve,
I respectfully disagree... McClover's father went on air, saying OSU had his son's word and in their family keeping your word is of high importance... (he then backed out at the last minute).

Rolle seems to be confused with the death of his gf, etc... it's clear he would really like a UF offer, however UF is "filled" (although in the SEC they seem to like to sign well above the 25 limit assuming that some of the kids will not make grades... OSU will not/can not go after questionable kids... so we offer who we think can actually make grades...novel concept, a school offering kids that can make the grade to get in)...

Although OSU hasn't had the best luck on signing day, my guess is Rolle will be a buckeye unless UF finds a way to offer him...

I don't think Joe Thomas is a very good example either...there were rumors floating on Thomas but he always stood his ground saying Pitt was his choice. Rolle flat out said that he has pretty much backed out of his verbal to re-evaluate things(despite being "110% buckeye" earlier).

Well at this point in Rolle's recruitment there really isnt anyone that you can compare him, due to the extreme circumstances...

I was just merely pointing out the parallels in wanting an offer from the home state school, but instead of waiting committed to an OOS school, and stayed solid to them...

Now you have a kid that is struggling with his decision due to the circumstances...

Either way I wish Brian well and will pull for him wherever he goes...
