LB Brian Rolle (Official Thread)

For anyone that is well versed in Wrestling...

Does 215 class mean that they are over 215 or does it mean that they are in the range of 189-215 as the 189 class seems to be the lower one down from that in the results from the paper...

Thanks.

215 is the upper bound. This means 225 is no problem for him since typically one who wrestles at 215 has a natural weight a little over 215 and there is some cutting of weight to get down to 215.

It means 215 is the limit...someone wrestling in the 215 weight class is usually VERY close to 215. Like 214 and some change. Their natrual weight would most likely be over 215.

EDIT: buckiprof beat me to it...

It means that in order to wrestle at 215 he has to be under it...he can be pretty much any weight under it...more often then not though guys will have to cut weight and go to the smaller weight class...it is not unusual for guys to drop 8-10 lbs in a week trying to cut weight...so his actual weight could be anywhere from 190-225ish...i'm going with a stronger guess on the high side

which means his football weight is probably more like 220ish.

Edit-Korchiki beat me to it. I hope we answered your question cbf40 :)

Yeah I think you guys took care of it, with the 5 quick responses...

So this would mean that he would be up about 20 lbs from his listed weight if he wasnt keeping some weight off...

Give him a redshirt year and he could be pushing 230 and a guy with his speed 230 would be great size for him...

FYI Brandon Hicks committed to UF yesterday so there is nearly 0% chance they are going to come through with an offer. Regardless of that, it looks like this one has officially been put to bed. Glad to see that Brian is going to stick with the Buckeyes!

I can't blame a kid for having a "Plan B" (which appears that OSU is), the schools, including OSU, do it all the time. In 4 years Brian will be questioning why he even considered anywhere else.

Go Buckeyes!

Pretty cool to see that Brian is an exceptional wrestler, didn't realize this. As a fan of High School Wrestling, I've always had a soft spot for the big Heavy's that have played here as wrestling state champs. Guys like Fickell, Finkes, Stepanovich, Broadnax, and many others. There's just something about the physical and mental demands of the sport that seem to translate well on the football field. Best of luck here to Brian. Wonder if Ryan has him on his radar, or vice-versa.

Cant believe no one pointed this out...

Rolle has a Sparq rating of 90.69. Holy mother of... He is probably the most athletic player we have signed...

Just for reference, Tim Tebow scored a ~96.7. And he is a physical monster.

Very impressive to say the least, aren't the Haden brothers both over a 100?
