LaTwan Anderson (official thread)

I'm being told same thing someone else said (but I'm having trouble finding the post, maybe it was in the Bryant thread?), but my WVU guys have left me messages saying their staff was furious and that Latwan has verballed to OSU, and that Christian Bryant gave a silent as well but still plans on taking his OV's. Reminds them alot of their ordeal with Troy Smith, let's hope it has the same results :)

If we walk away with Latwan and Christian is their still room for both Joyner and Shaw , that's a lot of DB's in a small recruiting class IMO . But the more i think about it how can you turn away talent like any one of these guys , i guess its a good problem to have , lol .

I'd believe so, with the lack of strong talent especially at the S spots you'd think we would. I'm not sure how confident the staff is about Joyner though.

Someone with a better knowledge of the scholarship breakdown and how it is expected to shape out will be able to give you a better answer than I can though.

Latwan, Bryant and Shaw seem to be headed to help save the DB's though, I'm enthused about Latwan's commitment but I'm not as high on him as some are....namely the harrible Rivals, or as Barkley would say.........turrrble!

I think you could be right. Braxton Miller kinda let the cat outta the bag in a recent article.

i just find it somewhat interesting that the wvu staff really thought after an osu offer that he would still end up there....they went the way of mike farrell and just listened to what he said in the moment and not thinking too deeply about it imo

This has been reported has a few people. The Glenville kids always give the silent and then play the game. Teddy would have it no other way :wink2:. IMO LA is a boom or bust type. He could either be an Eric Berry type play maker back there, or be Jamario O'neal...

At least JamO was good on special teams....:smash:

Btw Im very happy this offer was finally extended, I was one of the people who have been calling for it since his great camp results. Heres to hoping he has a college career much closer to Berrys then Oneals, in scarlet and grey of course.

I may be off, but I don't recall O'Neal having too productive of a senior year at Glenville. Anderson has dominated 7 on 7s on the national level and his play has carried over onto 11 on 11 action for Glenville. I worry about the guys who are good in a helmet and shorts at these off season events, but can't back it up during the HS season. So far this year, Anderson has certainly backed up his offseason accolades

No, you're right. O'Neal's senior year performance was a mystery to a lot of people. Well, it was a mystery until he got to OSU and saw it was not an anomaly. I can't recall many positive scouting reports on O'Neal as a senior.

O'Neal has certainly shown much, much better, but of course that's no indication as to his future development.

FIFY.

And to the O'Neal comparison, Jamario had huge hype after his freshman and sophomore years playing at Mansfield Sr. Pretty much just a big fish in a small pond, and it never seemed like he developed much at Glenville or beyond. He was a beast of an athlete though.
