[REC]: obviously late to the party on this one, as the genre has been beaten to death and it has been remade. But damn if it isn't still a cleverly done little found footage shocker. Decent premise, effects weren't much to speak of, but the acting was surprisingly good and as a foreign film, it again proves a woman can be front and center in a horror movie without cheaply taking her clothes off. I won't watch Quarantine, because I'm sure I'd hate it. 4/5 for a Spanish movie that still stands the test of time.

The Taking of Deborah Logan: Honestly I was disappointed in this semi-found footage one. The last couple of scenes were really good, but they were so anxious to get to those pop shots (so to speak) that they really neglected the buildup. With AD as the subject matter, I found that disappointing. 2.5/5

For the first time? That's crazy.

I watched Big Trouble in Little China the other night on Netflix. Still holds up after all these years.

I also made my kids watch The Goonies. 3 out of 4 loved it.
Been meaning to watch it for a while, I just never caught it on TV. Saw it was on Netflix last night though. I thought about watching Big Trouble too, always been a fan of Carpenter's stuff

Million Dollar Duck -- at my wife's insistence -- premiered on Animal Planet on Wednesday evening. It's a documentary about the 2014 Federal Duck Stamp Contest.

It's actually fairly interesting, although my wife knowing what asses some of these folks are soured me on it a bit. The highlight was her showing up for a couple moments while talking with one of the artists that was featured.

The Neighbor: brought to you by the demented sumbitch who brought you The Collection and The Collector. There was no iconic red box, but it was a rollicking good time if you like getting a movie that turns in to something different. The hot chick from Starry Eyes was also the lead here. I liked it, 3.5/5, really held my attention.

I thought this one was pretty solid for a low budget, had some good jumps, nothing great but I gave it a 3.1415

Watched Blair Witch again (wife had never seen it somehow....) and I still enjoyed it.
