Netflix. Solid movie. And there are multiple sequels. Chinese production so it is biased at the end.

10 Cloverfield Lane: It was pretty entertaining for me. I haven't seen the original, but I know enough about it to take a bit of the suspense away. But it was a Ti West-like slow burn, which I'm cool with. John Goodman is underrated for doing creepy. Chick was cute and did a good job, wouldn't mind seeing her in some more stuff. 3/5 I think, solid flick.

Let Us Prey: Scottish/Irish horror flick. Relatively straightforward Devilish theme with an interesting cast. This was sort of part 30 Days of Night and part Dead Alive, as many British horror films are. Fun to see Pollyanna McIntosh again after she played The Woman. The 2 leads were great, loved them both. The others were more meh but they didn't carry the story. The end got a little too crazy, but I found it to be entertaining, if not a touch confusing at times. But good for 3/5 and in the worth a watch category if you like these types of movies.

Star Trek: Beyond

The least of the 3 new Star Trek movies, but still an enjoyable summer blockbuster film. Just don't think too much can while you're watching it, and you should be fine.

Just watch it. Outstanding.
agreed. excellent movie. unique storyline.
noticed something interesting. the first rudy kurlander said he was 88 years old. 88 is an important number among white supremacists. "h" is the 8th letter of alphabet, so 88 is a reference to "hh" (heil hitler). but 88 is just an age and is an appropriate age for the character, so i thought little of it. however, when it is shown that zev chose 98814 as his fake identification number, i thought it was certainly not a coincidence. 14/88 and 88/14 are well-known nazi/aryan references.

Saw Bourne last night. If you've seen the first three (not counting whatever that was with Jeremy Renner), you've seen it. That said, if you loved the first three, definitely see it. If you could take it or leave it, you should probably leave it. I thought it was fine, but I'm not sure that now having seen it that I would, had I not... if you follow that convoluted thought.

Similar movie to the others, i.e. has good action and a twisted plot, etc. It was a good movie. This one has a girl hacking into the CIA and getting the Black Operation Files that includes Bourne's project, i.e. "Threadstone". Bourne finds out some information about himself and his father. The CIA head (and his main assassin) tries to kill Bourne amid a backdrop of a CIA secret plan to spy on everyone via a social media service that is supposed to prevent that. The show has some "futuristic" electronic tracking/surveillance, lots of killing anyone in the CIA's way, and chase scenes. The chase scene at the end in Las Vegas might set a record for most cars and slot machines destroyed in a movie. Bourne sustains major damage, i.e. beat up, car wrecks, and shot; however, he is miraculously fully recovered in the end and the ending leaves it open for another movie.

Saw Suicide Squad this weekend and thought it was very entertaining. Not a mind bending script or story but it was fun, and really, that's what I wanted for this flick. Loved Smith as Deadshot, Robbie as Harley Quinn and Leto as Joker. Reminded me a lot of the cartoon versions from back in the '90's. I don't understand why it's taking such a beating in the reviews, but it seems like it's vogue to bash anything DC in the media.
