We spent a couple days at Disney World last week, and did all of Tomorrowland, so we checked out the recent movie from the library:

It was a pretty good time, basically just cheesy futuristic fun, but I have to admit watching a movie full of lifelike robots so soon after Westworld gave me some strange associations... similar thing kept happening at Disney, I kept wondering what that Chester Arthur robot does after-hours in the Hall of Presidents...

Looking forward to seeing Manchester by the Sea. Casey is a great talent along with others.... And solid director. My pick for major Oscar buzz. The wifey saw without me cuz she couldn't wait. Said it was up there with Out of the Furnace another recent flick with Casey that was incredible. If you haven't seen that one........it's awesome.

Don't Breathe: it was actually as good as people say and IMDb has it rated. Kinda cliche in spots, but well executed and the ending even made sense, which is a damn rarity in horror films. Focuses on a small number of characters and one location, so easy to follow. 4/5

"The Fantastic Mr. Fox" - such a Wes Anderson movie; great voice work by George Clooney, Bill Murray and Jason Schwartzman; I also loved some of the secondary characters like Kylie and acoustic-bandleader Petey. Maybe not for everyone (though my wife who doesn't get Anderson's appeal did like it), but definitely one of the better movies I've seen in awhile.

I'm so pleased that Fantastic Mr. Fox has recently become a family favorite in our house, and especially in the car when our 4-year-old (sorry, four and three quarters!) gets to pick what to watch on longer rides. I actually love listening to it when I'm driving them, since the voices are so good, and there are so many great lines that stick in my head. I wasn't sure what our girls would think of it, since it's as "talky" as you'd expect from Wes Anderson, but the look and feel of the movie is so much fun, and they were immediately hooked. I've actually never read the book, but it will be in our little one's stocking this Christmas.

Watched this on the EPIC channel last night. You definitely want to see the unedited version. Heck, everyone in the show is "fucked up", and Kevin Spacey tells you at the beginning how it ends (i.e. he dies); but was still an OK movie.

Do they have the new seats there? Those are a must these days, especially if you have to endure the terrible AMC popcorn.
Good question. The screen I'm looking at appears to have twin seats, though that could be misleading. $4.50 for a matinee is pretty solid though.

I typically prefer to skip the noise and people of theaters (and own 1-5 blurays for the price of two tickets).

Heath Ohio Facebook:

Work on the renovation of half the AMC Indian Mound 9 movie theater is nearing an end. EVERY seat in EVERY renovated theater will fully recline and have a drink holder! Renovated concession areas also will include alcohol sales. The new theater spaces are scheduled to be completed and showing movies by the end of September, at which time work will begin on renovating the other half of the movie theater

I am not sure if anybody remembers Flickers. They had a place at the Worthington Square Mall, back when it was open air, and then one at New Market or around there in the Sawmill area.

They served alcohol. I used to go on dates there in high school because they would serve us.

I think I saw Gremlins at the Worthington Square Flickers way back in the day, definitely saw a few movies there in the 80s - but I was more interested in the pop and pizza at that age.
