Maybe I just hate the french :p

I realize most liked if not loved Ratatouille and unlike the popularity of Honey Boo Boo or Broke Girls, I have no beef with that.

If Ratatouille came out now instead of during the undefeated streak of greatness, it would probably change my impression of it. Perhaps I'll have to give it another shot some time. Judged against Toy Story 1&2, Monsters Inc, Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, Cars, Wall-E, Up, Toy Story 3 it pales in comparison. That's pretty rarified air though.

Either way, they've definitely slid quite a bit with Cars 2 & Brave.I often forget about A Bug's Life, though it was early enough that they get away with it.

Pixar's top shelf is awfully crowded!

For me, WallE is my least favorite Pixar movie. And I think I'm in the minority on that one.

Mean Girls. (With my wife, I swear.) Meh.

Just a friendly reminder to anyone who may have forgotten high school -- teenage girls are sociopaths.

Zero Dark Thirty. Great fcuking movie. Period. I will be going back and taking my fifteen year old daughter. I was concerned that it might be too rah-rah, 'Merica, fcuk yeah!" but there was none of that. Also, McCain is out of his mind. If he thinks it portrays torture as to why we eventually got UBL, he nodded off in the first twenty minutes.

GET THE FUCK OUT!

Anyways, just watched Zero Dark Thirty. That shit was awesome. I loved everything about it. It was right up my alley. I have a degree in journalism with a minor in security & intelligence. Once upon a time, I had a lot of interest in possibly pursuing a career in military intel. So there was that angle, the being fucking badasses angle, and the everything else about it being awesome angle.

Has anyone seen that Silver Linings movie? How the freak did that get a Best Picture nomination???? Was it that good?

Absolutely. It IS by definition a romantic comedy, but I would be hard pressed to find a better Rom/Com in the last 20 years than this. There's a reason it was nominated for:

Best Picture
Best Male Actor in Leading
Best Female Actor in Leading
Best Male Actor in Supporting
Best Female Actor in Supporting
Best Adapted Screenplay
Best Director
and even Best Editing

I liken it to your favorite rollercoaster. You know where the ups and downs are coming, the pacing is predictable and the outcome is obvious from the start, but the experience is really what you come for and the experience is worth the price of admission.
