Remarkable film. Extremely over the top, but very well done by Tarantino. There's a reason why Leonardo DiCaprio & Christoph Waltz are both nominated for the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor and it's because they were both suberb in this. Highly recommend going to see this if you haven't already done so, but if you don't like violence or language (Specifically the N word), then this definitely isn't for you.

Django was great. Needed to lop off the last half hour and make it come to a conclusion before the whole re-slavery ordeal, but the first 2 hours were phenomenal. Some movies are meant to be 3 hours but this one didn't need to be.

Open Range - If you like westerns, you'll like this one. Costner and his bland, non-emotional acting style actually fit perfectly for his character in this, so he didn't kill the movie like he has in others. Duval is great as always. Tends to get slow in certain segments, but I enjoyed it overall.

If you like Westerns & Duvall and haven't seen the Lonesome Dove mini-series from the late 80's....I cannot recommend it highly enough. Duvall's Augustus McCrae is simply fantastic. Tommy Lee Jones, Danny Glover, Diane Lane.....no shortage of talent in it.

Yep. Classic. Had it on DVD but somehow lost it in the move. Might hit up the Amazon BP link for a Blu Ray upgrade.

Thanks!

Edit: So, just dropped a bill on that, the Broken Trail series, then went to The Sergio Leone Anthology (A Fistful Of Dollars / For A Few Dollars More / The Good, The Bad And The Ugly / Duck, You Sucker)" that includes the lesser know but funny and entertaining Duck, You Sucker!, and the Clint Eastwood Collection (Absolute Power / Dirty Harry / Gran Torino / Kelly's Heroes / Letters from Iwo Jima / Million Dollar Baby / Mystic River)allon Blu Ray. Got to love those after holiday deals.

Les Miserables - I was skeptical of how well this would translate to the big screen. In my IMO, shockingly, they did a fantastic job.

A couple stupid & unnecessary Hollywood things like adding a new song (WTF?!) and battle scenes, but at least they didn't change any major plot points. I wasn't a huge fan of all of their casting choices, but overall, still damn good.

8.5 out of 10.

(Also, I need to file a complaint with the local movie theater. Wait too much dust in the theater - it kept getting in my eyes. Sounded like a bunch of other people in the theater had the same problem. :paranoid:)

Went on a Best Buy bargain bin Blu-ray binge.

Got:
Ghost Busters (still great)
Good Will Hunting (never seen it)
The Bridge Over the River Kwai (classic, best whistling ever)
Groundhog Day (awesome and Andie MacDowell = hot)
3:10 to Yuma (never seen it)
A Few Good Men (you can't handle this movie)
The Usual Suspects (awesome)

$7.99 each.

Also got Season 1 of Game of Thrones on Blu-ray. Kept seeing it on regular dvd, but not Blu-ray. Went ahead and snatched it up...

I liked 3:10 to Yuma. I'm a Crowe fan though. Christian Bale is pretty good in it as well.

as for Goodwill Hunting

Seen The World at War too many times as every time Laurence Olivier spoke all I could picture were scenes of WWII. Still one of my favorite classics, though.
