Drive: first 9/10's of the movie was awesome. I thought the ending sucked. Still pretty damn good.

They left the ending too open for the viewer's mind, IMO. Otherwise it was the best movie I've seen since Inglorious Bastards or Inception. What makes it better than the other's: a MONEY soundtrack to go along with the movie.

This song had me so pumped when they were showing the LA skyline:

Watched the English-dubbed Swedish version of 'The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo'...I'd have to say that it's fairly superior to the Fincher version...though I did enjoy Fincher's as well.

Followed that with the English-dubbed sequels, 'The Girl Who Played With Fire', and 'The Girls That Kicked the Hornets Nest'...just a captivating trilogy of films. Like I said above, I thoroughly enjoyed Fincher's version, and I thought Rooney Mara was great, but Noomi Rapace is on another level...just way more "badass" IMO. If I had to number them, I'd go:

"Tattoo" 9/10
"Fire" "8.5/10
"Hornets" 7.5/10

Highly recommended...all three. If you have Amazon Prime, all three are available for free downloads.

Raging Bull: I must have missed something, because Roget Ebert says this is one of the 10 best films of all time...and I didn't see it. Yes, DeNiro was good, Pesci was himself, the blonde was smoking, but otherwise...I thought it left a lot to be desired. 2.5/5 for me, maybe if I watched it again I would understand the appeal more.

That's like saying you hate the Godfather. I mean, you could, but then people would drift away from you at parties. :p

Pesci's Joey LaMotta was perfect!

(De Niro approached Scorsese when he was hospitalized for a drug overdose and got him to do Raging Bull. Scorsese says that saved his life. For whatever reason, his film had rage and self destructiveness down pat....)

Watched the Hunger Games last weekend. Pretty good overall. Popcorn flick, took itself seriously enough to make a teenager novel into a watchable film.

It's not great cinema, and it's not going to change your life, but it's entertaining.

"The Hunger Games" Was a decent movie worth seeing on the big screen.
Lots of action. Politics "1984" Orwellian style. Not a lot of gore so most kids will be fine with it. No sex.

Saw a preview for "Abe Lincoln, Vampire Hunter", seriously?
