As someone who once defended the Pirates series for being more than a prototype action joint, I too am excited for On Stranger Tides... but with one fell swoop the whole series can become dead to me if POTC4 is cookie cutter box-office bullshit.

I have still refrained from watching the third Mummy movie for this very reason.

As much fun as the series has been Tim Powers' book deserved far better than to be shoehorned into it.

3rd mummy was awful imo, did not like the new girl they had gotten to play the wife
