I only went because it was in 3D; however, I didn't think it was that great of show.

Tim Burton = garbage

Tim Burton + remake = might as well kill yourself

Finally watched Inglourious Basterds. Shallow, self indulgent crap from Tarantino, w/ zero intelligence. He needs to get a dialogue driven script w/ some moxie, instead of the film-geek tributes his last couple of films have become. Brad Pitt proved again why he is one of the most overrated actors out there-he thinks he is cool by acting stupid and putting on a dumb accent. The only thing I liked about the movie was the scene introduced w/ David Bowie's "Cat People"-which was a perfect choice for the scene-but totally unlike the stuff Tarantino usually puts on his soundtracks-he usually trys to act like he is a black dude from 1975-speaking of which-wouldn't the Nazis have sent the black projectionist to a concentration camp-I can't believe a black person would feel comfortable enough to live out in the open in nazi-ccupied France?

Fight Club. Legends of the Fall. Snatch.

Three of my favorite movies ever. Pitt is not overrated, imo.

You can toss in the first "Ocean" movies too, I thought he did well with his character's dry yet sutble humor.

While I dont believe he's an all time great - Pitt certainly isn't a bad actor by any stretch of the imagination.

Meh- hated Legends of the Fall (and A River Runs Through It, while we're on the subject).

But, I've come to really appreciate Pitt. I still think 12 Monkeys is some of his best work, and Se7en was amazing.

Plus The Assassination of Jesse James, Burn After Reading (he's good in it even if you hate the movie), Troy (bad ass in it), Se7en

Probably my favorite actor.

Agree with 12 Monkeys. I'll add Kalifornia and Babel to the list. Like him or not, he has an impressive resume.

He's done some crap too. That vampire movie with Tom Cruise was some of the worst acting I've ever seen.

Bruno. Tried to be a gay version of Borat. Some very funny scenes, but overall it wasn't nearly as good as Borat-the reaction from the interviewees wasn't as good, and the backstory/plot didn't have nearly as many humorous elements as well.

Yeah. It is a ten. It is impossible to get out of your mind. It made me get the book, which has more detail and is even creepier, if possible. The two 12 year old actors are simply perfect for the parts, and as is very, very unusual in the genre, the movie works because it is much more character development driven than a scary slasher/ quick camera angle change, cheap trick using horror flick.

You essentially "get into" the characters like any good movie. GREAT choice kinch.

What'd the Cortesana think about it?

Edit: Muck - have you seen it yet in Swedeville?

I saw this last night and thought it was a very solid flick. I can't say I thought the child leads were phenomenal, but everything worked very well. For all the critical praise it has received, it was a pretty much by the numbers vampire and/or school bully movie-just very well done.

Alice at the theater........honestly thought it was better than most people have said. Although I am a homer I guess, because I love everything Burton, cept Nightmare before christmas and corpse bride.

Came home and watched Boondock Saints 2. Absolutely excellent. Loved every minute of it. But then again I am a homer there as well, because I adored the first one. I guess I just cant trust my opinion. Carry on.

Good to know. I have been dreading Boodock Saints 2 because I loved the first one, and was sure that a sequel would just fuck everything up. I'll definitely add it to my list now.
