Paranormal Activity - 8/10 I enjoyed it, it was not your typical horror movie. Much in the mode of Blair Witch, but better IMO. Scared the wifey pretty good

District 9 - 8.5/10 - I had no idea what to expect, but I was entertained pretty well. Other than looking at the aliens.

Best movie I've ever seen in terms of visuals, best movie I've seen in the theaters for awhile now. If you see it, do yourself a favor and at least see it in 3D. It is unbelievable.

Definitely the best theater experience I've ever had. Really a trip seeing it in 3D and the actual story and acting are pretty good too.

The shows they did off the books were poorly done... Made Sherlock look like a puss... the Movie went back off the books much better. They did a good job.

Again a bad remake of what?!

A gaggle of bad TV movies? A couple of bad Hound of the Baskerville flicks? Star Trek: TNG holodeck silliness? Murder by Decree? Soviet era Russian TV shows?

What good film source material is there that this could possibly be a bad remake of?!

FWIW I've read more than my share of Doyle and the movie Holmes is far more pulp than Doyle's creation. I still liked the movie a lot...but I wouldn't say it was exactly true to the original stories.

You win nevermind... I have seen others try to do shows/movies and they have shown Holmes as a pencil neck dweeb that couldn't do anything outside of out think someone. But felt the adaptation done by Ritchie shows Holmes as the controlled substance abusing, quick witted, tough, hard nose, stubborn man that "I" pictured him to be.
