I saw Holmes last night and I agree w/ your review-Jude Law was much better as a straight man than I expected, and Rachel McAdams was haaaawt.

I've heard it described as a steampunk version of Batman. (not that that would be a bad thing) Is that your reaction.

I wouldn't compare it to Batman-the villain was pretty run of the mill, and there wasn't any social commentary in the script. More like Austin Powers.
