Parents are, by and large, morons. Several brought young kids (5-8 yo) to see 'Watchmen' when I saw that in the theatre.

You think that's bad? At least it was a very good movie. I counted 7 kids all easily under the age of 5 at Halloween last night.

Got a really good laugh, some fat ass walks in wearing this huge toothlessburger jersey. I mean, at this size, its basically a converted horse blanket. He's mid 30's. Walks in with a girl who MIGHT be 19 and four kids... NONE of them older than 6 I guarantee it.

Lady in front of me said (and I quote) "who in the fuck brings their kids to a movie like this"

Answer - pennslytuckey inbreds.

H2

Rob Zombie should not be allowed to produce, write, or direct ANY future movie, in any country...ever.

I was something of a fan of the original two. This one was just retarded. On top of having numerous plot holes. The violence was (can't believe I"m saying this) so far over the fucking top it was unneccessary at times.

The language, was a typical zombie movie with your white trash cliche's.

The suspense, little - couple small jumps here and there. On top of that, the whole "Mom" thing - dumbest idea ever. He took a base for a truely scary character and made an even shittier movie than the first. Kudos Rob, I didnt think you could do it.

- I'm asking for my $7.75 back :(

I enjoyed the first remake, but it didn't leave me with any desire to see this. I did really like 'House of 1,000 Corpses' and 'The Devil's Rejects'.

Saw 'Inglorious Basterds' again last night, this time with the old lady. My favorite movie of the year by a wide margin. The actor that played Colonel Landa needs Oscar gold...one of the most vile movie villians ever IMO.

I like horror flicks for what they are. I don't expect Oscar-winning acting or screenplays. Many of them are fun if you don't take them too seriously. I think many people go into horror films expecting too much, and think the movie has to "prove" something to them for them to enjoy it. I find this attitude ridiculous.

I felt the need to say all of this ahead of time lest anyone think me a horror movie "snob", because I saw H2 today, and I have to say, in agreement with my friends here, it was possibly the worst movie experience in history. The acting was bad, thought that was less their fault than it was the script, which was beyond terrible, Zombie's psychadelic visions were obscured by horrible jerky camera work that was doubtlessly used to get an R rating, the dialogue was nothing but stupid redneck humor and f bombs, the sound effects were so over the top all that was missing were the 60's Batman "Bap" "Zoom" "Smack" cards, Michael Myers went from epic killer to degenerate hobo, and yes, the best for last...Shari Moon Zombie wanted a movie role, and her husband wanted to show off his "goods", so we get possibly the worst conception of anything ever with Mike's mommy leading (not even riding) a fucking white horse while telling him what to do. Fucking brilliant. Really. Danielle Harris gives the best performance of the movie, but maybe it's just me, but there's something inhehrently creepy about seeing the same little girl from Haloween 4 as a scantily clad (or unclad) teeneager in this and the first Zombie movie. I actually didn't mind his "vision" about what went into Myers becoming what he was from the first movie, but the "vision" about why he continues to kill with his mother is nothing but the cheapest of rip-offs. I'll give Zombie credit, he did try and pay homage to some great movies and some past Haloween movies with a few of his scenes (most notably Haloween 4 with the ending with Laurie and then Psycho with the final scene) but this movie was well beyond the threshold of terrible.

Absolutley positively 100% not even fucking close. I liked the first Zombie flick for what it was and more than most people as well, and this one was so much worse than that one there is no real way to even quantify it.

And I dont either, and its far from my attitude. I actually liked the first remake. I thought it had some nice touche's and a far more intimidating Micheal. He was large and physically able to impend his will. But he carried on the story in such a piss-poor way that I"m sure I could have wrote something better given the time. What does he do in his free-time? Trek across corn fields and kill the shit out of people? Seriously? Lame...

+1 on Danielle Harris

And another for the homage to Halloween 4. I damn near expected to see the mark of thorn on both their arms.

IMHO, not being a parent and enjoying movies, kids under 10 or so shouldn't be brought to theatres for one simple reason. They lack the attention span to sit through an entire movie, quietly, with respect for others around them. They are just kids, if they get bored they get restless and loud. Parents should be cognizent of that fact and either not bring them or take them out when it happens. But most people don't.

Yeah I wasn't pointing at you there, I was just prefacing my own opinion so it didn't seem like I am one of those people that expects "Seven" every time I go to the theater to see a horror flick.

I remember being afraid to get into the bath tube for a period of time afterwards....luckily that didn't stick.

And by todays standards, Jaws is nothing! I saw one little girl get put on a booster seat so she could see heads being ripped off in "District 9"! :smash:

How is the severed head in Jaws less shocking?

I'm not sure I buy the "today movies are worse!!" line. The grindhouse drive in stuff from the late 60's early 70's makes today's gorefests look like Disney flicks.

Amazingly not all children are exactly alike. My nephews never had a problem behaving when I took them to movies when they were younger. There's lots of youngsters out there that you don't notice...you just notice the loud ones.

Similarly people with cell phones should be banned from theaters... as should loud talkers....and popcorn crunchers.
