I'm interested in the fallout from UT's class, and how many follow Lane out to SoCal. How many does he want? I have to believe several recruits bail on their commitments to USC after Lane was announced.

If Tennessee can sign Gruden, this might be the best thing to happen to UT in a while. Kiffin has DRod failure all over him. Not 3-9 bad, but he'll never achieve the success Petey had grown them accustom to. While Pete got dissed for selling the #1 recruit line repetatively, he still seemed genuine and fun. Kiffin is an idiot, and comes off at every turn looking like a moron. Just a really bad hire in light of Reggie Bush and O.J Mayo...

And it gets better. John Brice for Volquest.com reporting to Jim Wogan of WATE TV 6 Knoxville that now-former assistant University of Tennessee coach Ed Orgeron was on the phone with new recruits and early committals trying to lure them to USC as he was cleaning out his office less than 3 hours after word got out that Lane Kiffin resigned and was going to become the new head coach at the Univ of Southern California.

The UT football players were having a very contentious meeting with Kiffin and players were reportedly putting Orgeron on speakerphone of their cellphones listening to what was occurring

This whole thing is just infinitely hilarious. Tennessee's supposed savior has left them with nothing but a bunch of violations, and their students are rioting in the streets. PC has escaped to Seattle (where he'll undoubtedly be a hilarious failure) before the NCAA hammer comes down on USC. And USC has hired a man who once seriously tried a 70 yard field goal in a real game. Not as a joke. :rofl:

This has been a great three months or so of college football.
