 To be fair, my point was that you [censored]in' lawyers could take two sentences and stretch it into an essay.

*Non-Lawyer Translation*:

Talkin' a bunch of [censored] without backing it up makes me think you're just bitter about the '07 NC game, no matter how many 's you use.

We're paid by the hour douchenozzle:p

Well.....Northwestern and State Penn must be clean :paranoid:

But you get extra credit for having the entire conference cited for a major infraction :slappy:

Point is, we all have amnesia when it comes to our own conference. Hell, it may be as simple as we hate each other in the SEC a bunch more than you hate each other in the Big 10 and thus turn each other in a lot more.

The Big Ten's strongest characteristics are its integrity, tradition, and academia. These principles are how we define ourself as a conference.

So it isn't necessarily that the SEC has more infractions than us (which you actually do) because breaching NCAA rules doesn't always mean that you have done or have intentionally tried to do something morally wrong. It's more that you play by the rules for entirely different reasons and are therefore far more likely to wander into those gray areas. I think our conference makes it clear and I know that Ohio State makes it clear that our values are more important than winning (RR and Michigan being the clear exception).

Kiffin's comments won't result in an NCAA infraction and they probably didn't even cross any definable ethical boundaries but there was a level of dirtiness to it that is pretty suggestive of his character. That kind of conduct would be unprecedented in the Big Ten and so far beyond the permissible. I guess we, as a fan base tend to lazily generalize and run parallels with these sorts of happenings and cheating because the motivating characteristics are the same.

And as I say this I realize that it is not any one team's fault that the precedents of the conference are what they are. For example, I know from having been exposed to the LSU fan base before our NC match up that they are very respectful and humble even in victory. Never-the-less reality is what it is and the culture in the SEC isn't ever going to be renowned for its integrity.

To be fair, his brush covered both the SEC as a conference and Urban Meyer as UF's coach. I really could not care less about hearing him trying to substantiate a claim that the entire conference is devoid of ethics, but I am very interested in him proving that claim against Urban, and that is what I am really focusing on.

He ain't got nuttin' against Urban other than the same type of crap that was alleged against Tress - rumors and lazy journalist and fan blog nonsense. All that smoke had no fire when it came to MoC and Tress. Same thing here.
It makes me laugh, because on any other topic you're a smart guy.

I truly appreciate the assistance, fellas. But I was really hoping someone would tell me what, "You just have to know that he thought by making a Jim Tressel like statement about beating us in the swamp this year that he was sounded liek atought guy." means. Or is this good ol' southwestern Appalachian jibberish? I haven't lived in NC in almost four years; therefore, my translator is rusty.

One slightly overlooked aspect here: why is Kiffin stupid enough to drag Pahokee into this?

Gator Clause

You'd think not alienating one of the better talent pipelines to I-A schools would be high on the priority list of a smart coach.

It seems that Kiffin is in over his head. He's trying hard to fit into Volunteer Nation and doesn't seem to realize that the wider world is watching and listening.

It's definitely a mistake to 'muck' things up in Pahokee.

SEC and Big 12 far and away have the most major infractions since the 1950's...and while the Big 10 has a few major infractions in the last 20 years, it isn't really that comparable to the list I posted earlier, that dates back to 1985. And those were only the top 7....

Your statement here is a damning of the SWC way moreso than either the SEC or the Big12. So much so they were disbanded.

1. Meat Market

2. Seven of the SEC's most famous infractions - Reports from The Birmingham News - al.com

....above doesn't even mention Roy Adams, his admitted handshakes, parties, and favoritism of clean-cut kids.

The SEC is a different animal....I don't think anyone really has to substaniate their opinion on SEC ethics, when it is widely known how rogue the whole deal is.

Perhaps, but to those of us on the inside, it seems like these opinions (and often times unfair accusations) come when the league is just kickin' butt and takin' names. As Gator mentioned - they often times aren't backed with any facts (yours is the clear and admirable exception) so we chalk them up as petty and jealous.

People like Saban, Meyer, Fulmer, Miles, and Nutt don't get enough credit for being 100% tenacious on the recruiting trail. They DO NOT QUIT till they get a yes and for alot of kids, its impressive.
