Yup that is right a 5'7'' pg from NY who is an amazing passer, and very athletic...
Her name is Samantha Prahalis. She is 5'7". I have seen video of her and she is an extremely skilled ball handler. I can't remember where I saw the video. It might even be on this site. Some people have compared her to Sue Bird who used to play for UConn.

Foster's 650th win a breeze

Tuesday, January 29, 2008 Rusty Miller

Associated Press
Columbus- Jim Foster was not planning on a big party to celebrate his 650th coaching win. Far from it.
"Coaches don't win any games without good players. It's a fact of life," he said after No. 19 Ohio State's 89-53 women's college basketball victory over Penn State on Monday night. "Players win games for coaches - and I've had a lot of good ones."
One of them is freshman Jantel Lavender, who had 22 points to lead the way for the Buckeyes. Marscilla Packer added 12 points and seven assists and Ashlee Trebilcock had 11 points for Ohio State (16-4, 7-2 Big Ten).

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
OSU back in business
Stingy defense fuels rout, helps erase sting of loss

By Jim Massie

The Columbus Dispatch
The Minnesota moment passed into history last night for the Buckeyes with the force of a barrel tumbling over Niagara Falls.
With the first chance to say something about how they felt about their loss Sunday to the Gophers in a Big Ten women's basketball game, the 19th-ranked Buckeyes shouted loudly enough to shake the walls of Value City Arena during an 89-53 blowout victory over Penn State.
The win kept OSU (16-4, 7-2) in first place in the Big Ten and the 36-point margin was the largest for the Buckeyes in a series that used to be dominated by the Lions (13-8, 4-5).

That was a fun one last night. Everyone saw the floor, and almost everyone scored. Plus, it was 25-cent hot dog night!

My only complaint was the woman working the concession stand who was rolling her eyes and sighing every time a customer asked for...well, anything, really.

"I'd like four hot dogs, please."

:roll1:

"And two lemonades. Thanks!"

:roll1:

I'm not usually one to complain about service, but it was so bad that we mentioned it to a staff member.

Which stand did you go to?

I watched the first half of the game last night and it was first look at them this year.....they seem more athletic than the past few years......
I have watched them periodically over the past few years and this year they are a much more athletic team than they have been in the past and I think a lot of that has to do with the fact that Lavender is much more athletic than Davenport. Jantel gets up the court so much faster than Jess used to and all of the offense used to go through Davenport. I think it is into a more distributed now.

Absolutely true. Jantel is always one of the first down to the other end, which is great to see.

It was also very encouraging to see such good ball movement last night, which has been my biggest criticism of Foster's offense here. Too many times, we've had a guard standing out top faking passes to the post for half the shot clock, and depended too much on the ability to make that entry pass. When we get to the NCAAs, teams just load up in the paint, and we pile up turnovers trying to force it down low.

Even some of our younger players are showing the ability to get by a defender and hit a mid-range jumper. Hopefully that portends good things, because it can only mean more room for Lavender to work over the next few years.

Blonde? Late 30's? Nice set?

Might have been the cheese bitch. She only likes to serve nachos - but you can get them any way you want.

Rematch tests OSU women
Foster is hopeful Buckeyes learned from narrow win

JAY LAPRETE Associated Press
Jantel Lavender, driving against Jenna Smith, struggled against the Illini, missing 8 of 12 shots from the field.

The first meeting between the Ohio State and Illinois women's basketball teams two weeks ago featured all the elegance of a tug-of-war contested over a mud pit. Down five points with 1:19 to play, the Big Ten-leading Buckeyes rose from the muck for a 43-42 victory. Until Ohio State guards Marscilla Packer and Maria Moeller hit three-point shots in the final 79 seconds, the offenses for both teams were, well, offensive.
The rematch with the Illini occurs tonight. Illinois is counting on its defense to ugly up the game again. Ohio State coach Jim Foster hopes memories of the previous encounter will keep his players from going kersplat into the morass of quick shots and missed layups.
