edit: exhawg already took a practice swing.
The sooner Quinn takes over the quarterbacking duties, the better. I was happy when we drafted Frye, but damn, he hasn't been good at all.
BTW, king... this statement probably speaks more about Frye than Quinn, so don't get too excited about adding a fellow groupie.

Mark your calender for October 28th then.

That is week 8 and after the bye week. The Browns first six games are pretty tough, and they're going to be 2-4 or 1-5 at that point.

P.S. Glad you're riding the Brady train:)
if they are 2-4 then we're in trouble and brady may be coming in.

1.) i dont think brady is an nfl qb
2.) if he is, he needs to sit this entire season, get the carson palmer treatment and let him adjust unless they are better than 2-4.. if the season is a wash let him develop

im optimistic with the return on bently.. all the sudden the browns have one of the top couple lines in the NFL, and thats where it all starts

Nothing like the ole ND fan SOS fallback. It never fails. (no offense uluk... you're a welcome exception)
:atom: Keep sticking your head in the sand, and ignoring reality. All of these teams are having average seasons, if not below average for some.

Michigan (two humiliating losses), Michigan State (unranked, lost to NW!), Penn State (lousy QB & OL, RB was awful till this week), & Georgia Tech (4-3 w/ a narrow win over a lousy Miami team)

Heh, if only we played powerhouses like Youngstown St., Akron, Northwestern, Minnesota, and Kent St.

You can point out these losses, but every team is flawed in some way this year.

Why would him getting hype make you wary? Like Clausen didn't get a lot of hype?

I'm just wary of gravy trains. They tend to put unrealistic expectations on players. I've read some glowing things about Floyd. Although sometimes kids do live up to it - Joel McKnight is a good example.

Watch some video of Michael Floyd and you'll see he's worthy of some hype. Problem for No D is that your athletes are jumping ship at an alarming rate and one of those athletes (Carufel) probably isn't a big NoD fan right now. Bad luck for the irish.

Athletes are leaving because they weren't happy with their position on the depth chart.

And three of them were IN SEASON, righhhht? Talk all you want about depth charts, but an in-season mass exodus is very unusual, and often linked to bigger problems.

You're just speculating. You shouldn't make claims like this unless you can back them up. Are you an insider in the ND program? From our standpoint, its a depth chart issue. And hey, Lord Charlie had no problem replacing Reuland, he took one of Ohio's elite talents.

Not to mention that Weis has already failed miserably with 4 of his first marquee recruits. Either he cannot identify talent, or develop KIDS, or both.

What recruits are you talking about? Jimmy? Hes been playing behind a terrible offensive line, as well with a gigantic asshole in Sully. Hes a true freshman in a very poor situation. Give him time. Kumara's going to be good too, he just needs more time.

You're completely ignoring the fact that in one of the worst years of the programs existence, hes recruited (thus far) the #1 class in the country.

Nevermind that you are busy explaining away how all the transfers from your previous monster class are expendable. I'm sure this next monster class will turn out differently. And if it doesn't? Hey, they are expendable, too, because that 09 class is looking awesome!

When did I say the past classes were "monster" classes or losing those players was expendable? You're making things up.

I would think that the point is, this is a Buckeye board and, quite frankly, this is a Ntre Ame thread. No matter how much our Gator guest should want to celebrate his win, one fact remains. We are still alive with a chance to repeat a trip to the NC game. Florida? Uh, dead.

Yes, getting run over by LSU in the National Championship again would be a great idea.

Florida has 10x the schedule you guys do too.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Gibson tried at LB and moved to DE because he wasn't doing well at picking up the assignments required at LB?

Maybe I'm thinking of another player, but I thought that it was Gibson.

You are correct, he was having a hard time taking in everything at LB. The staff thought it would be easier to let him fly off the edge every down.
