King bumps his gums on the pickle

The Ginn pick was a fucking terrible pick. I can understand them not being high on Brady Quinn, but to take Ginn with Willis, Okoye, and Carriker on the board is fucking terrible.

I say you are picked what you are picked. Give him #22 money with heavy performance incentives that way if he deserves top 10 money he can earn it. You could argue that Cleveland did Quinn a favor by drafting him when they did because it isn't a given that he wouldn't have slipped all the way into the 2nd round. Besides if he is really good when he gets his 2nd contract he'll be raking in the cash anyway.

KC was taking him at 23 if Phil didn't trade up.

Why not? That's where he was picked.....

He was top 10 talent in the draft.

He hasn't earned anything and thinking that he's entitled to top 10 money is ludicrous. And what's the definition of "stupidity"??

See Matt Leinart last year. He should've gone higher as well and he held out to get a deal he deserved.

Well at least you know your history.....

Glad I taught you something.

Fair? What about what's fair to the fans that have had to deal with the shit they've called a football team these past 5 years?

I'm sure he'll get enough as the 22nd pick to still buy the Catamaran that you and him want to buy for the long romantic cruises you have planned :roll1:

What does this have to do with Browns fans? This has to do with Quinn being paid his fair markey value.

The premium a QB typically nets as a 1st round pick will likely boost his signing bonus and contract terms to a relatively small degree.
But, aside from that imperative top 10 terms should not happen. There is absolutely no amount of arm-twisting the Browns can suffer to squeal and give Quinn and his agent money over the odds.
If they do give it to him then they would be extremely foolish.

Quinn deserves some very generous escalators at the very least. Seeing as he is a Condon agent, I think he will get them.

I'm surprised that you aren't the Vp for some NFL team already? Are you sure the Browns know you're available?

Apparently no one else thought so....and if he were TRULY top 10 talent, the Browns would've taken him at 3.

Nevermind that Matt Leinart actually won a big game and had good performances in the majority of them as well....

Glad I taught you something.

You've taught me that you have a man-crush on Brady Quinn.

What does your man-crush have to do with what the Browns pay Quinn? Oh wait.....

He was picked 22nd on the market. Therefore his market value is 22nd. If he wants top 10 money (read if his AGENT wants top 10 money), maybe Brady should get his ass into camp and EARN some playing time

rhabuf, apparently tou think you're a better GM than 20 or so NFL GMs, but Quinn does not deserve top 10 money, He was not chosen in the top 10 and was, infact, not even close. You also think the Dolphins made a bad pick in taking Ginn? I'd hardly call taking the best playmaker in the draft (besides CJ) a bad pick.

Had the Browns not traded up for Quinn, they would've spent a high pick on a QB next year, probably a top 5, almost certainly a top 10. As a result, Quinn definitely deserves more than his slotted value (22nd pick). The Browns need to meet his demands.

I refuse to believe you are this dumb. If I had tits and a clam I'd be a woman. He was the 22nd pick and should be paid accordingly.

The sooner Quinn takes over the quarterbacking duties, the better. I was happy when we drafted Frye, but damn, he hasn't been good at all.

Mark your calender for October 28th then.

That is week 8 and after the bye week. The Browns first six games are pretty tough, and they're going to be 2-4 or 1-5 at that point.

P.S. Glad you're riding the Brady train:)
