King bumps his gums on the pickle

Buckeyemike, I gave you two quotes from a yahoo article that backed up what I said about Clausen. You havent given anything but your personal feelings on the guy. I am only doing what was asked of me and I would expect you to do the same. If you can, please post something backing up your assumption that Clausen is not a good leader or a bad guy.

where did he ever act entitled?
he announced his college decision at the college football hall of fame, sporting his laughable hs championship rings (in a garbage division stacked with great prospects on his team... The equivalent of notre dame playing in the ivy league)

He flashed them around for the media with the same pompous nature as his future head coach who constantly brought up his rings in awkward fashion on recruiting trips.
I think you are just making things up because you dont like him.clearly you don't follow college football or recruiting very closely
Its okay because he rubbed me the wrong way
:slappy: so his attitude rubbed you the wrong way but it's hate-filled fiction to suggest he acted entitled or a d-bag? That's rich and quite the contradiction
but like you guys asked me to do I am providing facts and sources backing up my statement that he is not a d-bag.
they don't frequently write articles about the d-bag level of players.

However, there were plenty of folks talking about clausen coming off as arrogant or presumptuous, which are both in the same ballpark as entitled.
You are just giving me some of your personal feelings. And where did Quinn ever act like that? That dude took everything like a man and didnt complain at all.

Quinn was much less abrasive with the public. He had a reputation for being a bit arrogant and snobbish off camera, but was much more pleasant than Jimmy on it.

Somrthing did rub me wrong about Clausen, could never put my finger on it. But, I was impressed with the way he didnt complain openly while getting destroyed every year. I thought before the year when he made the "he wont get fired because of me" statement it proved to be the opposite of entitled. People can say he is arrogant or cocky, most NFL QBs are, and like I posted NFL personel are liking his attitude. In fact Kiper was talking about his attitude being a positive just yesterday on the radio. The 18 year old flashing rings thing put a huge target on him, maybe that is what started it for me. The ploy worked and they actually got some talent to South Bend, the skill players everyone is talking about making Clausen. If that is the only ding on his record and he has shown huge improvements then I am impressed.

Clearly not pompous or entitled here:

College Football Hall of Fame

1. Arriving in a stretch hummer

2. Bringing a host of media to the hall of fame for your plans to attend Notre Dame

3. Planning to win four national titles

4. Flashing your unimpressive HS championship rings around like you're a rockstar

Who gives a flying fuck what Kiper is saying about his attitude while he's going for a job? We've seen his attitude multiple times throughout his college career.

The Browns will not get Clausen. Fuck Clausen and his yappie followers....

We should split all of his neanderthals' posts off into a thread called "The Return of the King" since it's Easter today

And you would still follow me there and double post. I agree that when he was coming out of HS he made some ridiculous moves, but since then he has handled everything like a man. That shows growth and maturity, he learned from his mistakes. You compare someone like Clausen making some arrogant moves and never making them again to someone like Anotnio Henton saying he would win at least one Heisman and continuing to make dumb mistakes.

From now on I am not replying to people like buckeyemike that troll and try to bait me. I am playing by the rules as requested and he and NFbuck are clearly not. I only ask for the same of other posters as what is requested of me.

JWinslow, I agree he looked like a turd at that time, but like I said above he got killed for three years and never complained. I know a lot of posters dont want him as the pick, it just terrifies me going into next year without a real solutution at QB. I understand Holmgren like to chum the waters with mid round picks and wait till ones turns out, but are we really looking to wait another few years to see what happens?

Chris Mortensen posted a tweet a day or two ago that said teams liked Clausen, but none loved him. Not one.

I don't necessarily have a problem with the guy. Just saying. You seem to be giving him a lot of praise, which is fine, but I think you might be overstating a couple things.

Yeah he really handled that bar fight like a man

And if you feel the need to compare Clausen in any way to Antonio Henton you've already lost :slappy:

It's not baiting when you're the one making asinine comments and completely stupid comparisons while offering little proof and nothing but conjecture.

If you don't want to be called on your bullshit, BRING SOMETHING USEFUL TO THE DISCUSSION.

Redskins Insider - Mike Holmgren is latest to say Jimmy Clausen isn't worth the No. 4 pick

:slappy:

You know how you have a type of player that you like? It's not scientific. People like him a lot. He'll go high," Holmgren said. "But it would be hard for me [to take him]."

And I'm still waiting on your response to my FACTS about how teams have won the AFC North.

Leadership questions dog QB Jimmy Clausen at the combine - USATODAY.com
Leadership questions dog QB Jimmy Clausen at the combine

What kind of leader are you?

"Some people are saying I'm cocky. I'm arrogant, I'm not a good leader, I'm not a good teammate," Clausen said. "The people who are out there saying those things really don't know me as a person."

These are the questions hanging over the quarterback
"I'm a humble kid," Clausen said. "I love having fun with my teammates. I have guys over to my house whether they're offensive or defensive guys, go in during days off, watch a lot of film with the receivers. During the offseason, I have a bunch of my guys come out to work out with me, stay at my house with my family.
No one is buying that first line, Jimmy. There are arrogant pricks among the greatest NFL qbs & busts alike, like Rivers and Leaf.
"I think they (teams) just want to see me up close and personal, get a feel for me as a person," Clausen said. "They're cognizant of the perceptions out there. To be honest, I'm just going in there and just talking to them, answering the questions they have for me, getting to know them and for them to get to know me."
Clearly not just fan-hatred & fiction.
Mike Mayock said:
. "He's got a big arm," NFL Network analyst Mike Mayock said. "The bigger issues for him are convincing people he's going to be a great leader."
There are endless quotes and concerns like this one.Redskins Insider - Jimmy Clausen defends his reputation on the field and off
former Notre Dame quarterback Jimmy Clausen lacks leadership skills and maturity. Other than that, Clausen apparently is a pretty good guy.

"I have no idea why he says that," Clausen said Wednesday in a lengthy phone interview. "People are just going to say what they want to say. But at the end of the day, I am who I am. And the people who really know who I am, know the type of person that I am - a loving, caring person [who's] a pretty good football player and a great leader on the field and off the field."
Talk about overcompensating.

ESPN's Chris Mortensen predicts that Notre Dame QB Jimmy Clausen will not be drafted in the top-20 picks.
This isn't a report; Mortensen is guessing. Still, he relays that plenty of teams "like" Clausen, but so far have been unable to find "reasons to love him." Mort predicts that the Bills will pass on Clausen if he falls to No. 9. Unless the Jaguars' (drafting 10th) interest in Clausen is sincere, a serious free fall could begin at that point, perhaps to as late as Minnesota (No. 30).

If Berry ends up being anything like Sean Taylor then I'd draft him 10times over. That guy is what Taylor Mays wakes up and dream's about being.
