I know they went to the same school and had the same coach, but other than that there is no possible way anyone can say they are the same player. Are Sam Bradford and Jason White the same player? Are Circle K and Troy Smith the same player? They played at the same school and had the same coach..
Quinn needed his WRs to do the work? Did you watch how many times Tate bailed out Claussen? And imagine how much better Quinn's stats would have been if he actually had better WRs like Claussen to 'bail' him out.
All I remember when we got Quinn was everyone talking about how accurate he was. So really the only difference between the two I see and hear is Claussen has a stronger arm.

Then look at Quinn's JR numbers which are better than his SR year... just saying...

So god forbid if Holmgren just takes a QB this year and never picks one again. Looking at Holmgren's history with Seattle he took a QB in 4 of his first 5 drafts with Seattle.
If the Browns employ the develop a late round QB strategy the team would most likely take a QB every year, at least until he has 2-3 QBs he feels comfortable with. Plus it doesn't take 'years' to develop a late round QB. Holmgren should know if he has something after a year. He can tell in fall camp and practice if there is a good chance he will develop or not.
Let us assume Holmgren takes Tony Pike in the 4th/5th round (not saying I like Pike... just using him as an example). Holmgren can watch him in fall camp and during the season in practice to see if he is getting 'it' or not. So this time next year Holmgren would hopefully have an idea on whether he thinks Pike will be a QB for the future.
Depending on that evaluation Holmgren can then either Trade for a QB if the Browns are a possible playoff team, maybe there is a better free agent out there to replace Delhomme or else he might really like a QB in the 1st round... or maybe pick another 5th round QB if Pike is doing ok.
