I think that if you get tackled by the kicker or punter or quarterback, it should be a 10-yard penalty. That's almost as bad as a fumble, or something.

IIRC they use new balls. Kickers love the beaten up balls because they can kick them better. I don't think kickers are allowed to even try and soften them with their hands much anymore.

I don't understand why kickers have to have an extremely difficult ball to kick. Do they wear out the other balls that much?

Poor nuge, I listened on the radio. It sounded like he was finally going to show them what he was all about, making 4-4 and then lining up for a 53 yarder.

Total class act after the game. Wouldn't really blame the cold for the miss, and went out of his way twice to praise the offense for a great performance during the game.

Many HS and college teams still do...as long as the ballboy can slip it by the refs
