Joshua Shaw (official thread)

I see no reason not to offer Riley...Unless there are character/grade issues...

Got Hagan (who might be a LB when it is all said and done) along with sitting well with Joyner and Bryant. Both are being recruited at S. Do we bring in a 3rd/4th safety?

Since when is Shaw being recruited at safety? Joyner may play S, but Shaw is a corner all the way, IMO...

If it helps close the deal with Shaw, then offer Riley. He's a stud safety in his own right. Hagan is a STAR or LB. We should be looking to finish this DB class with Bryant, Shaw, and Riley IMO.

I hope we don't pass up a chance to land Riley because we're holding out til signing day with Joyner.

I agree, but i think the staff waits it out on Joyner, for better or worse. Don't think Riley gets an offer, but hopefully I'm wrong...

I really think it has to do with the number of schollies that we have available.

Likely the case imo. I don't see Hagan ever playing safety here...OLB or Star. Bryant will play safety and possibly Joyner if he comes this way, though I see both Joyner and Shaw at corner.

FWIW Riley is the biggest player of any recruit this year, he will take every offer and every opportunity to create drama and suspense in his recruitment. He will talk to any service and say things that will create "buzz"

He has a USC offer a long long time and no matter what he says to other services, USC is still in the lead and will be hard to beat out.

Shaw is pretty similar, not quite as bad as Riley. USC fans feel he will come down to USC and OSU and the decision will come down to if he wants to leave home or not.

Do you have links to this new info or are you just adding USC fan's interpretation of what Shaw/Riley have been saying?

Basically anything Riley says USC moderators and people who have sources just say he is playing the game, and to expect it until he commits, no matter what he says he is still a USC lean and will be until OV's then it's see what he says afterwards.

Shaw is pretty similar, he says generally positive things about every visit etc. After his OSU visit, USC guys were saying that it was clearly about leaving home or not. If he wanted to stay home it was USC if he didn't it was OSU.

I don't see how that makes him a player at all. He likes OSU the best right now and seems to be pretty honest and open about it. It's not like he's switching leaders left and right. He went to a USC practice and OSU was still in the lead.

I don't know what Riley is doing, but I don't think that Shaw is a "player."
