Joshua Shaw (Palmdale (Calif./Palmdale) will take an unofficial visit to Seattle this weekend to take in the Washington-LSU game. He's also close on finalizing his last official visit.
Shaw has four of his official visits set with Ohio State (Sept. 11), Florida (Sept. 18), LSU (Oct. 9) and Notre Dame (Oct. 16).
"I'm pretty sure my last visit will be to Tennessee," Shaw said. "I still need to finalize the date but it's looking good right now. I'm looking forward to visiting Washington this weekend. This will just be an unofficial visit since it's close to home for me and it allows me to take my official visits to schools outside the West."
Shaw will also visit USC unofficially and has already checked out Ohio State in an earlier visit. The Buckeyes are in a good position at this time.
"Ohio State is my leader still," Shaw said. "I can't wait to get out there for that official visit but I'm not ready to shut things down yet. I know some have asked if I might commit to Ohio State on the visit but that won't happen.
"I mean it's my first visit and I really want to take all my trips before I decide anything to make sure I'm doing the right thing. My plan all along was to take all my visits and then decide on Christmas day. I may just tell the school I'm picking on Christmas what I'm doing and then go public at the Under Armour game or just get it done on Christmas, still working that out."
Shaw has become good friends with standout safety
Dietrich Riley and the two have talked about going to the same school. Package deals rarely happen in recruiting but Shaw said the two would love to play together at the next level.
"That would be great and we talk about it all the time," Shaw said. "We both like USC and Notre Dame and they have offered both of us. Ohio State is talking to him but hasn't offered yet.
"If they do offer, then something could definitely happen. He's a big time safety and a great player and I think we could make a great combination in the secondary with me at corner and him at safety."
