I hate to hear that he is no longer considering tOSU, but like the poster above said, we have been running in 3rd for months. Jordan is a great player and I would love to see him take his place as the next great LB in a long line of great LBs at tOSU, but he has to do what he thinks is best for him. Good luck to him wherever he goes.

There is no texas alumni network of any significance in Ohio. In fact it really doesn't exist.

It sounds like his mom will permanently move with him to watch him play and be where the support/assistance will be. So she gets it. Alot of you don't get it and never will. I'm not talking about piddly high school support of no consequence. I'm talking about bigtime alumni/university support.

There's actually a pretty strong alumni group of longhorns based out of Cincinnati. Texas's network is just as wide reaching as Ohio State's, the two schools have equals amounts of tradition. It's not like he's picking Tulsa.

I think you are vastly overstating the need of "support." His main decision factors should be academics, athletics, and comfort level. He can't really base a decision on if some businessman will give him a real estate job if he doesn't make the league...

Man, he sure is an elite talent and I hope we can somehow get back in this one. That said, we are stacked at LBer and if playing early is of interest, the odds to do so here are low. You would think the same could be said about UF as well though. I don't think Jelani Jenkins even played this year and that kid was nasty!

Wisebuck, I don't think weather is going to outweigh his comfort level @ the school and with the coaches. I think weather is one of those secondary factors that might get looked @ as a positive @ a particular school but not his deciding factor. Especially with a kid that has experienced both the warm and the cold.

Its always funny to hear kids bring up weather as a place to go college, when many of them expect to play in the NFL. Are they going to say "no I'll pass" on Green Bay, NYG, NYJ and the Bears to name a few?! This kid has a good head on his shoulders and each school he has in his top 3 all have GREAT national alumni presence. And I highly doubt wherever he chooses he wouldn't be welcome back because of his college choice. All 3 colleges are stellar in academics and athletics and he can't make a wrong choice, comfort level is to each his own.

I never understood this counter argument. You're right, they more than likely won't control where they play in the NFL, so why criticize their one chance to decide the climate where they will spend the next 3-5 years of their life?

I'm not criticizing, I guess I wonder why some(maybe its fans, players, online sites) make that much of a big deal about it. I don't think it goes through the minds of many of the elite players as some would think. That's all I'm saying

To be honest, I don't know how close OSU was in Jordan's mind. Can't lose something that was never had.

I think Jordan (my opinion, by the way) gave OSU a solid look out of respect for OSU, the state of Ohio and the other Lakota West players who have attended OSU. In the end, his heart was elsewhere and I don't blame the young man in the least. I don't believe he mislead OSU in the least and as soon as he felt that OSU wasn't going to be the place for him he let OSU know...

...unlike Ben Martin who kept two or three schools at bay for months and then pulled a UT LOI out of nowhere on signing day.

Good luck Mr. Hicks! I wish I could have seen you play Colerain one more time this year. :)
