I am honestly surprised Tajh Boyd is 11th at 16:1 odds. Sure, Clemson has to play Georgia and South Carolina, but I think Boyd can put up video game numbers this year.

Bovada is also offering odds on whether Johnny Manziel will play in Texas A&M's first game, against Rice on Aug. 31. As of Monday afternoon, "No" was the odds-on favorite at 1-3. A "Yes" wager is currently set at 2-1.

That's a hell of a house vig. I'd watch out fer my cornhole before making bets with these guys.

I figured that that was the intent when they even mentioned the location being the same place (even if they didn't use the word exact)

The implication could also be that they were in the same place because he signed them all at once in assembly line fashion because he was getting paid to do it rather than individual signatures on unique items at various locations as you would expect from legitimate unique signatures.

If sports have a mainstream value beyond the benefit of exercise, then what is it? Listening to the talking heads on PTI and Around the Horn expand on the issues of Manziel's enterprise and the suspension of ARod, I was forced to come to the conclusion that there is no value added beyond exercise.

"We all know that the point is to win and to do that you cheat when you can."

So kiddies, today's lesson is that you and your team should cheat the rules because the only thing that matters is to win and if you have to use drugs, well, so be it.

On the videos, which the broker said were recorded without Manziel's knowledge, ESPN heard Manziel say "you never did a signing with me" and that if the broker were to tell anyone, he would refuse to deal with him again in the future. Manziel, who appeared comfortable throughout the video recordings, also said if asked, he would say he had simply been approached by various autograph seekers.

The broker said he does not intend to cooperate with the ongoing NCAA investigation involving Manziel and autographs, originally reported Sunday by Outside the Lines.
he broker did allow ESPN's Joe Schad to view the videos. Later, the broker said he had decided not to sell the videos.

Do most of you really think the Aggies and Manziel deserve all this...or do you just enjoy seeing it because its about time somebody else got caught since we know so many SEC schools have gotten away with things like this and worse without any public criticism?

I dislike it all...it has nothing to do with the actual football, which is the part of this I love. There is enough exposure at all these schools now that we could just let all NCAA players make money off their own likeness, and the sport would survive and I don't think there would be any more unfair advantage to certain schools than there is now. What's the purpose anymore?

Players getting paid under the table for signing LOIs...yes dirty. Players getting paid for their autograph or their possessions...not dirty.

I'm sure some will disagree, but I feel like some of these rules are hurting the sport more than helping it.

How do you make sure there aren't people who tell kids on their visit that if they commit to ____________ then they'll be there to buy their autographs from them for thousands?

I don't disagree with you in that the rule is stupid. (Coincidentally, I also think the rule prohibiting players from selling their own stuff is stupid, but that's beside the point.)

The point here is that it's a rule and he (allegedly) broke it. If he is found to be guilty - he (and aTm) should be forced to pay the piper.....

There's two issues here.

#1 Should he be able to sell his autograph (or "likeness")?
#2 Does he deserve to get punished for breaking the rules?

We can debate #1. A lot of people think he should, but there's a lot of unintended consequences in things like that.

As for #2...regardless of your feelings on #1, if he did take money for signing items, he broke the rules. He knows that selling his autograph is against the rules and he did it anyway. So yes, he deserves to be punished.
