Johnny Manziel (unemployed)

Was there a "Brian Hoyer likes this photo" posted after any of these? I'm all for having a good time, but Manziel has a lot of ground to make up if he wants to beat out Hoyer for the starting job and drunk pool parties probably isn't the way to do it. It will look pretty ridiculous if he is still living it up like this after spending a season on the bench.

All I know is that I'm ultra competitive; if I'm not a starter you can be damn certain I'm going to put in every ounce of work and then some to be that guy. Especially as a rookie being drafted only a couple short weeks ago.

Especially a guy who most folks say is going to have garbage as game in the pros.

Instead of working on tequila shots and partying with gals, maybe he should be working on his 5 and 7 step drop? Jus sayin.

I think if Ray Farmer and Petine had problems with him going to Vegas he would not have gone. If they did not know and they have problems with it, I seriously doubt if he will be going again. I mean if he was a 4-7 draft pick the national media would not even be covering this story. I have no problem with him going to Vegas as long as it does not interfere with his football career.

If he were drafted higher in the draft, the media wouldn't be covering it? Uh....no.

This is a story because it's more of the same from the kid. At some point the antics should stop and he should dedicate his life to getting better at football. You'd think once he started being paid ABOVE the table, but clearly that's not going to be the catalyst. Maybe after he get his first bit of NFL playing time? First start? First benching? First trade for a 6th rounder? First flat out being cut from a team? First time he isn't picked up? First stop in the unemployment line? First trip to the bankruptcy lawyer's office?

I do not know if you are a Browns or not. If you personally do not like him for what he did in college so be it. My point was that if the Browns organization have a problem with him going to Vegas, I do not think that he would have made the trip. Maybe they did not know about it but neither you or I know that. Ray Farmer has stated a couple times that he does not mind Johnny being Johnny but it when it comes to Football he wants Football.

Sorry....I thought you meant 4-7 overall, not 4-7 rounds. Still, with Manziel this is a story no matter what round he was taken.

I don't know why you think he would have listened to authority about this Vegas trip. It seems like it would have been the first time in his life that he did.

He's been the media's darling ever since the TexPN gave him the moniker of Johnny Football.

But, unbeknownst to him, the 'media' enjoys tearing down a kid just as fast as they build him up. I wish him well, but he's in the big times now.
First interview with TexPN he shuns or blows up at one of their 'reporters', they're gonna eat his arse up.

And yes, that includes Skip Bayless.
