Johnny Manziel (unemployed)

Yes I am. But it looks like he played in the 60's and 70's? So my question would be 1) was he potentially ahead of his time and 2) were defensive linemen 280 pounds running 4.6-4.8 40's and linebackers 240 pounds running 4.4-4.6 40's?
We're they playing in lightweight uniforms with cleats that weighed only slightly more than Usaine Bolts track shoes? No. But you could take head shots and grab a guy by the collar.

All things relative, he managed to make a new franchise team, one without a defense, no receivers, a porous o line, and a decent full back, Bill Brown, fun to watch in an era when QBs didn't run. The term "scramble" entered sports writer's language with Fran.

Right so he falls under the category of "before his time." You could have a near direct comparison of gale Sayers and Reggie bush. Put Reggie bush back in gale Sayers era and he's probably just as electric. Put gale Sayers in Reggie bush's era and he's probably just as average given the overall size and speed increase over time.

I think if Money Badger and Braxton both come out this year then Money Badger will be a better NFL QB. I believe if Braxton comes back and continues to develop he has a higher ceiling and could possibly be a better NFL QB.

This is only true if they are both asked to start day one on shitty teams.. in the NFL it probably matters more about what Team drafts you... if Money Badger goes to Oakland/Jax/Clev etc and Brax gets drafted by GB/NE/Denv/NO my money is on Brax being the better QB

To play fair you have to give the old guys the same level of "unique ability" they possessed in their time when you bring them into the present.

What I would grant you is that Fran didn't play against teams that used as many situation players.

Right I wasn't really trying to take anything away from Fran or gale whatsoever. Just trying to say that a player with a similar skillset won't necessarily make it in the nfl simply due to another player in the 60's being an all-timer. Just a different game.

I think Johnny best compares to a poor mans Russell wilson

Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel hasn’t declared for the draft yet, but he has apparently picked his agent, according to a report on Tuesday from ESPN. Multiple sources tell ESPN’s Darren Rovell that Manziel has chosen Select Sports Group out of Houston to be his contract agency and LRMR, the firm run by LeBron James’ business partner Maverick Carter, to do his marketing. It is unclear whether he has signed a deal with either firm. Calls placed to SSG and Carter were not immediately returned.

Manziel also makes decisions justlikethat, and nearly always the right ones.

Brax makes his decisions kind ........ of ..................... like ................................ this.
Fubar has one of the worst TD to INT ratios I've seen in a potential first round pick.
In addition to his size he doesnt have a strong arm. To throw the long ball he puts a ton of air under it. He will get picked off like crazy. I dont think brax will have great success in the nfl, but at least if he gets a great qb coach he can improve, because he has an arm cannon. Brax often is throwing the ball with way too much heat. Manziel will need a ton of PEDs over 2 years to be able to throw like that.

Now that the badger is no longer associated with aggy or the sec!, I can see myself rooting for him. His Sinatra lifestyle and no fucks given attitude should make for some entertaining stories coming out.
I see him failing and going the route of Tebow. They will pair those two against each other with Skip Bayless as the moderator in a show called Douche Bag Corner.

He'll have a great rookie year, then some NFL OLB/DE will break him in half and he will rent out a basement apartment in the Playboy Mansion...

Will wipe Tebow/Farve/Manningcantwinthebigone off the front page...
