Pretty sure Tom Bolden, Colerain's head coach, is Joe's uncle and that Dan Bolden, Colerain's AD, is his father.

thxs, papers side that but, still bad news. I'm sure he stills talks to an uncle and colleges call AD first to check on grades and other news about any talented kid.

Quite a nice lb haul for Hoke. I suppose since we had no offers out to these recruits it doesnt directly affect us. I think with bringing in Grant(#1 rated lb`r) and Shazier(tearing it up in the spring)last year...... we are really deep. I think we only take 1 or 2 and with Josh Perry already on board we are good. I look for Hoke and michigan to be very competitive on defense in a few years. Go Bucks

Beating Ohio State is personal, too

"I hate to say it," Bolden said, "but there was stuff that went on with Notre Dame and 'Ohio' as well...with both those schools. I don't wanna say it upset me, but I have personal reasons to beat Notre Dame and Ohio."

Bolden's dislike of the Buckeyes stems from several poor experiences during the recruiting process.

"Ohio State didn't recruit me at the beginning. They didn't recruit me as much towards the end either. I wouldn't change my mind about Michigan even if they had. I am an Ohio kid who wanted to be a Michigan man. Now I want to beat Michigan State, Ohio State and Notre Dame every year."

Beating Ohio State was a major selling point for Bolden and there was an image put in his head by defensive coordinator Greg Mattison that has him excited about starting his career at Michigan.

"Coach Mattison wants to see me at the 'Shoe with a power play coming right at me, and me stuffing it," Bolden said proudly.

Even though he has to wait over a year before taking the field at the Big House, Bolden is just enjoying the fruits of being a Wolverine now, and the personal reasons he has to beat the Wolverines' rivals, is driving him to be the best player he can be.

"Going back home and wearing the Block M and walking down the street, whether it be Cincinnati or Columbus, it just gives you a special feeling. It fills you with pride. I just love Michigan and we are going to beat the tar out of 'Ohio' and Notre Dame."

I really like the fact that the kids JT brings in dont spew crap like this. Nice and all to show your pride for your team......Buckeye recruits do their talking on the field. Good luck to Joe catching and tackling Braxton Miller, Rod Smith, Dunn and Ball in the future. Can`t wait to see a couple of those guys truck him. Go Bucks

You have to hand it to Mattison. He's playing the disrespect card in UM's favor.

"Son, I know you wanted to play for Ohio State and I know they haven't recruited you. That's a slap in the face to your talents. But I tell you what... we love what you can bring to the table and there's no school you could choose that would upset the folks in Columbus more than Michigan. No other school can provide you the opportunity to show them what they are missing out on better than Michigan."
