LOL! Cocoa had 185 total yards and 85 came on one play. Colerain was more dominant than the score indicated. If I never saw a score or knew how many TD's each team had, I would have guessed Colerain won by 25+ points.

Then you would have guessed wrong. A 10 point win isn't a dominating one or a blowout. It was a close game on Colerain's home field. Sorry.

Eh, it wasn't as close as the score shows. Cocoa never really threatened to score until late. Colerains defense just smothered them. However, Colerain couldn't put consistent drives together either but I think as the season goes on their QB will get better with the option and they should be able to score some points. However, that defense is nasty.

Considering the 85 yard play was the only time in the entire game Coco was with in 7 yards of crossing the 50 yard line, I'd have to say it was dominating.

Maybe Colerain's defense was dominating, but their offense only managed 17 points. A 10 point win isn't dominating. And it was at Colerain.

I just thought I would add, the Colrain QB either is a below average passer
or the young man just had a bad day. In any event, IMHO, the better team won the game.

you're correct. Colerainhas won many close home games during the 63 game win streak...today was a game where many believed the 'florida speed' would end that streak. I think Colerain represented the state well today against a pretty good Cocoa team that will win its share of games this season.

Dominating may be a strong way to put it...but the outcome was never really in doubt..I think it was a convincing win for my Cardinals. :)

LA is a junior transfer and this was his first game as a starter in this system. in the two scrimmages he thew the ball much better but this Cocoa defense deserves some credit for a lot of that.

I would also state, since this is this thread, that Joe Bolden played very well today. He got caught out of position on the screen pass that went for a TD but played a solid, hard hitting game all around.

I watched the game with my friends down south, so let me just say, a bunch of guys from Georgia, where high school football is pretty legit, they all said the same thing... Colerein appeared, throughout the game, the much better team. Colerein's defense was very solid.

I'll be surprised if anyone scores over 21 points on them throughout the regular season. That defense is the real deal.

I think further along in the season, if those two teams played again, the score would be much, MUCH worse in favor of Colerain. Once the offense comes together (i.e. QB play), they'll be nasty.

Linebackers

1- Joe Bolden, Cincinnati (Ohio) Colerain
One of the least-publicized players entering the week, the Michigan commit was a hit from the first day on with his instincts and underrated feet and athleticism standing out. Bolden also was a sponge to the coaching given and by all accounts is a future leader of the Wolverines? defense. Bolden currently is 220 pounds, but has the frame to add 15-20 more in time.
