The 2008 and 2002 teams relied entirely on one person. Beanie and Mo respectively. Once they were out, the offense was putrid.

I've seen a lot of potent offenses that rely on one person.

I understand that it would be great for every season to rack up stats like the 2006 Heisman offense, but you're overstating your point here. 2005 and 2007 (All-Big10 QB Boeckman) were very good offenses that averaged over 30/game, and 2002 and 2008 came pretty close even with only 1 player on offense. 2001 and 2004 were the only subpar offensive Tressel years IMO.

I don't think anyone on here is displeased at what JT has accomplished at his time here as our coach. I wouldn't trade him for any coach out there. My point is simply that as good as it has been in the past, it could certainly be better than it is at present.

When I think about what the problems are, I think of technique (mainly with the QB and O Line) and play calling. And if we're being honest without bashing, that falls directly on the coaches.

If you think Pryor has been coached to do some of the reckless things he has done over the past few weeks, you need to quit smoking that crack you are confiscating on the job.

The only coaching flaw with Pryor right now is that he has not met the bench yet. Not saying bench him completely...but get some competition going in there.

However, if that performance saturday did not find a bench, I am very concerned about Bauserman's ability as the backup.

Fair enough. So you really think our coaching is up to par and needs no tweaking?

Or the line's ability to block for a non-running QB?

I think it might be a factor.

(I'm not for benching Pryor, I think it might hurt more than help, but I consider you a better football mind than myself :p)

I'm no expert in football, by any means. But it seems we are the only major BCS team that has this problem year in and year out.
Name one other BCS team that has special teams on par with tOSU year in and year out. Now, tell me if that same team has the kind of defense tOSU fans have come to EXPECT. Didn't think so.

The players change every 3-5 years, the coaching staff doesn't. But nothing changes. The two constants are apparently related. coaching staff and poor offense.

EXCEPT for 02, 03, and 06...hell, 07's offense wasn't all that bad. Perfect? No...but I guess that's what Buckeye fans think they are entitled to these days. For fucks sake, it's like people don't remember what came before JT...and that includes Coach Bruce too.

And these kids weren't all 1 star rectuits coming in with no ability. They were among the players in the nation at every position. But they get here and they can't block, can't throw, can't break a tackle, can't get open and can't read a blitz. Who does that fall back on?

So JT gets no credit for turning Hartline into an NFL starter or Jenkins into a fuckin' Thorpe winner, but he gets all the blame for every negative.

JT will end up leaving one day. I just hope tOSU fans don't cause him to leave earlier than he planned.

You don't know what you got, 'til it's gone.

Remember that shit, all of you.

Have you watched Bauserman play this season? He ain't the answer.

Grad wasn't saying he's the answer... he's saying JB could have spelled Pryor in the Purdue game, giving Pryor the chance to chill out... or even to say to him, with the benching - this is unacceptable, and you will have to play better if you're going to play.

I love JT and don't want to hear a word about him being fired. But he's not above criticism. We're 91st in yards per game this year. Pretty much anyone is going to get criticized for that, and probably deservedly so. Especially given the talent level of our players.

EDIT: This isn't really directed at BUCKYLE, just more of a general statement..
