Knowles to PSU? Part 5… He’s Gone.

Turns out he might be leaving and we will know for sure after the celebration. Very weird Jim, very weird… but thanks for the memories.

To summarize what Alex G said, Day really chewed into the defensive staff after the Oregon game and his relationship with Knowles soured because of it.

Knowles reportedly reached out to Oklahoma on December 28th and reached out to Penn State this past Tuesday.

Knowles chose Penn State to have FULL control over the defense, something he didn’t have here (issues with LJ, Day making him play less aggressive after the 2022 big plays destroyed our title run and Day getting involved again after Oregon this year).

Ohio State WAS willing to go above the 3.1 million Penn State paid, but ultimately this came down to Oklahoma and Penn State and Knowles chose Penn State on Thursday.

“The long story short here is that a rift started between Day and Knowles after the Oregon game when the head man demanded change. I’m told Knowles hasn’t been able to get past that which led to his ultimate departure. Im sure the frustration of the LJ stuff, and the general overall outside and inside pressure that comes at OSU just hit a head with Jim, and he seeked out the best opportunity for him that was not in Columbus

Whatever Day did after the Oregon game transformed the defense from a unit that cratered against equal talent to the best unit in the country if that bothered Jim, idgaf”

Which would be what I thought… look if that’s the case then dude go to Penn State and go back to your ultra aggressive unsound defense. As I said you’ll fit Penn States defensive approach to a tee. That’s what they’ve always been.
