Jersey / Uniform Discussion (OSU)

maybe they should, there isn't anything else close to grey on the uniform.
Their pants went from the shiny silver two years ago to the matte gray last year (which I hate..silver looks sleek). That change annoyed me more than this jersey change.

Well the way I look at it since I haven't chimed in yet is we've never just had 1 type of jersey. We've always for the most part changed somewhat even if only a little. To be honest I wouldn't doubt that they're doing this to get more options down the road (ie adding a black alternate jersey). I like it that the jerseys will be tight fitted because lets be honest how many times was our defense held last year and as a result gave up a 1st down or touchdown (cough penn state cough). Change is something that always happens and I for the most part love our jerseys mainly because they're going to look good and I have to love our buckeyes

I think he had the stripes rolled up under his pads, he doesn't like them regardless. I am not sure if he always had the gray stripes or if they changed when he was there, but he definitely did have the gray stipes.

Well, those "things" are now Ohio State jerseys - and that's something special. I'd gladly wear one with pride, and so won't they guys who wear 'em every Saturday this fall.

Ok, I admit that I overreacted at first. The first picture I saw made them out to look way worse than what they really are. The latest picture that I saw of the jerseys aren't too bad.

I think I just jumped at the thought of changing our jerseys, without even really thinking about it.

We're Doooooooooomed!

I don't think I'm being overly dramatic at all. The new jerseys look like nebraska jerseys with black stripes added. Ugly. The jerseys in the 80s were ugly as well. It's a complete downgrade as far as quality goes. The matte pants are just going to make it worse, since they also look white on my TV. Most people I know consider our 1989-2005 uniforms to be one of the best looking uniforms in college football. I realize that these new ones do not approach the level of ugliness exhibited by Oregon or Miami uniforms, but I just don't understand why anyone thought this was a good idea. I mean, were recruits saying "Gee, I sure would like to play at Ohio State, but their uniforms look too good." Throwback unis are not always a good idea - Imagine the Kansas City Royals going back to their powder blue, early 1980s duds.
