Jersey / Uniform Discussion (OSU)

Ok, here's the dictionary definition of "change":

"The act, process, or result of altering or modifying."

Yep, sounds like the number enlargement wasn't a change, you're right. :roll1:

Read my above post regarding "black-and-white" definition of a term and the spirit of a term. Keep grasping, teacher-boy...

There's a big difference between tweaking or "tinkering" with a jersey design and a flatout change.

You know damn well you're just splitting hairs at this point.

The uniforms in 05 definitely look different than the ones in 94 let alone 84.

As I stated there has been number of small gradual changes over the years.

To say that there have been no changes in 20 years would indicate that the uniforms look the same. They don't...period.

As I also stated this change is much greater than anything in a long time so it certainly sits on a different plateau...but it's not the only change.

Muck: I threw this together very quickly just to give everyone an idea of how it may look.

Geez why is Corey Mays trying to cop a feel? lol

I think the away jerseys are going to look tight....still not sold on the homes yet.

We'll see come fall (or in the next few days when they have "official" shots of Troy or Teddy wearing them).

Edit: Looking at the photo makes me wonder if they're planning on slimming down the outside black stripe on the pants to match better as well...

Hate to break this to you, but this is the first jersey change in 20 years...

It's not the first uniform change in 20 years...

Evidence: The pants that everyone on here is bitching about.
More evidence: The jerseys that Robert Smith and Raymont Harris do not fit in nearly the same way that Clarett or Pittman's did.
Even more evidence: They didn't have the logo on the front of the neck 20 years ago.

They tweak these things all the time - it's just that more of the type of people who are inclined to bitch about it are noticing this time.

How many of the people that are complaining about this are the same people who ask for alternate silver jerseys or some stupid shit like that?

It's the same damn stripe that they use on every other part of the uniform. IT'S ALWAYS BEEN AROUND - it's just in a new spot!

Besides - The old jerseys weren't classic just because they looked good. They were classic because they were worn by the Buckeyes. And you know what? If they change the stripe again in 20 years, people will miss those uniforms too.

what about pant change from gray to silver to gray under bruce coop, tressel

Probably not very noticable to the casual fan, so I don't know if I'd consider it a "change" in the uniform.

You know damn well you're just splitting hairs at this point.

So, you say that the simple enlargement of the shoulder numbers consititutes a uniform "change", but I'm the one splitting hairs? :roll1: You still haven't answered my earlier question whether you'd consider the slight change in the neck logo a "change".

If you were to ask a group of fans after any of the aforementioned "changes" (pants color from grey to silver, silver to grey; enlargement/reduction of shoulder numbers) if the uniform looked any "different", most would say "no" or "not really". If you want to see a real "change" in a uniform, look at the difference between the Miami Hurricane uniforms of today and of the early/mid '90s...helmets, jersey color scheme, number font, piping, pants, everything is totally different.
