Jersey / Uniform Discussion (OSU)

padrig..how scarlet arwe they? one picture they look orange and another they look maroon..

They're not orange looking at all...very "red". It's definitely got a shimer to it, almost metalic depending on the angle you're looking at it.

I'll be interested to see (as someone else said as well) what they look like over pads. I'm wondering what the material looks like more stretched out.

I don't know, I think they look pretty sharp. The old jerseys had a mishmash of different stripes that didn't really make any sense, other than to add some gray to the mix. I think once you see the jerseys with the gray pants and helmets they'll look even better.

They definitely don't look like the Georgia "orange".

And as an aside (I didn't see it mentioned earlier in the thread) that Jersey was auctioned off with Coach Tressel's, Coach Cooper's, and Coach Bruce's autographs on it (they signed it right there on stage) for $5,000 Bucks!!! :yow1:

Well if anything didnt make sense on the "old" jerseys, it was adding in the black. The grey had its rightful spot. I guess now we can say, "Go Scarlet and Black!", lol.

Anyone else wonder about this transition? They'd have to mess with the pants too to pull off gray :shake:

Nice jork as always J. The whites arent too bad. I guess they will be relying on the pants to carry the grey for them. Though if they make any changes to the pants, maybe make the pants more silver to match the helmets. There looks to be a big difference in the shine between the 2002 season and the (most recent) 2005 season pants.

The jersey's are exactly the same as the scUM and cryami uni's. That stupid wrap around material that we all criticized the hell out of last year.

I think this is a conspiracy by the jerk offs with the billboard!

To bad they did't come out with these last year when our LB's and DE's were being held just about every play. Maybe the opposing offenxse wouldn't have been able to get ahold of them.

No it's not.

I remember the throwbacks the year we had Hoying and the boys with the black numbers on the shoulders.

No it wasn't a permanent change but it was a uniform change.

A one-season commemoration jersey isn't a "change"...they went right back to the original uniform the next season, and the only change for the 1993 jersey was the addition of the black numbers. Was it technically different from the previous year's jersey? Yes. Was it a "change"? No.

Now, forgive the kindergarten-esque look of this drawing (only had Paint to work with), but this would be more like it:
