Jersey / Uniform Discussion (OSU)

I really like that the jerseys appear more scarlet and the pants more gray. Very solid. Yes I'd prefer the silver bullets, but for the sake of this game, those are what they are.

It seems Ohio State has been trending towards red and off-white in their home uni's. It's the scarlet-and-gray-ness that makes me happy.

Heck, I'd take a similar design with some minor tweaks (back to the old shoulder stripes and the silver helmets) and make that the regular home jersey. But, this is just for one game.

OK, color me confused.

Some of the same posters who were complaining about last years unis not being a true throwback are now complaining about them wearing a scarlet helmet (which is a true throwback helmet).
I think I heard someone say they thought the scarlet helmet made their butt look too big.

OK, that's enough dump-and-run sarcasm from MaxBuck on this thread for awhile. Back to you all for your commentary.

Call me crazy (insert some poster calling me crazy in here), but I don't really care what they wear as long as they kick the living snot out of every team that steps on the field against them.

The design looks fine. It's scarlet and gray people. That's all I need. :)

Respect for a football team has fuck-all to do with their fashion sense, friend. And everything to do with how well they play the game.
I disagree. Oregon could go undefeated every year and I would still look at them as a novelty item because of the silly ass uniforms they wear.

I prefer the term "curmudgeon."
Works for me.

I love how everybody who doesn't like the uniform or actually has a desire to have an opinion is either "gay" or a "woman" now. :roll1:

It's perfectly valid.

People preach about not changing the unis b/c of tradition but I guarantee you if they win every game and win a title that they will not remember 10 years from now that it was the year they wore Nike "gimmick" jerseys.

Winning has a way of curing a nitpicking fan base.

I still don't see how that makes the question valid. Jerseys don't make a 10 win team a 12 win team.

Why not respond to the rest of my post? It was all directed at your original comment. I'm not mad or anything, I just thought the hypothetical didn't make any sense.

Let's put it this way... If we win a title with lame jerseys, I'm fucking pumped. But I'm still annoyed that we had a gimmicky jersey switch for the Michigan game. It's just unnecessary. But you're right about the winning, that's what matters. There's just no correlation between the jerseys and winning.

EDIT: It's not worth arguing about, so I'm done. :p
