I love where the black guy vaults through a narrow window at the top of a wall and the Craig runs through sheetrock like the KoolAid pitcher.

Goldeneye was good.. but I think Casino & Quantum were about the best since the end of Roger Moore's turn as Bond.

my dad an old school Bond guy didn't like the new ones... not enough humor for him and way to dark.

I was as a fan of Casino Royale. Plus the ending credits song (You Know My Name-Chris Cornell) was so money.

While I haven't disliked any of the actors playing Bond over the years, except for maybe Dalton, Connery will still be the tops for me. For the criticism that Pierce gets, I give it to him for helping reawaken the franchise with Goldeneye and bringing a whole new generation into the Bond films. Goldeneye was also one of those rare cases where a good movie is an even better video game

Skyfall London Filming

5th November 2011

True to their word, the cast and crew of the new 007 adventure "Skyfall" were spotted on the streets of London this weekend, in the early stages of filming scenes from the forthcoming James Bond movie. Fans of the franchise will spot a few familiar faces amongst the crowd, including Judi Dench, Daniel Craig, Sam Mendes, Michael G. Wilson and Rory Kinnear, who, whilst his recasting remains unconfirmed, appears to be returning to the role of Bill Tanner. The snaps also appear to confirm rumours of the vehicles involved: a Jaguar XJL and Range Rover Vogue SE.

Early Bond films with Connery struck a nice balance between dark humor and cruelty. Adding to the books story lines. Ian Fleming didn't like his portrayal.
Craig has gotten a bit of that back. But Connery's acting of Bond was fabulous!

I stopped at Casino Royale, some of the James Bond "traditions" that had been handed down from one actor to another seemed to die there. There is a scene where Craig is at a bar, and asked if he "wanted his Martini shaken or stirred"? Craig replied "I don't care". Also gone was the signature Walther PPK.:( The History Channel did a "Tales of the Gun" show on automatic pistols. According to the narrator, the Walther PPK is the most recognized hand gun in the world due to the James Bond movies.

The original book did not have bond use a Walther PPK (although he used a Beretta 418, not a Walther P99 like in the movie). It wasn't until Dr. No (6th book) did Bond use the Walther PPK. You have to remember, Casino Royale is about the beginning of Bond, not the continuation of the legend. So things like the gun takes time for him to figure out. It wasn't long before he switched to the PPK, since that is what he uses in Quantum of Solace.

As far as shaken or stirred, I thought that was rather good. The line had become stale and cliche.

Overall I am happy with the new Bond. It had gotten way too silly and was close to dead. I would like to see a less ass kicking Bond, since I always felt some of the best scenes in the old movies were him being outmatched as a fighter (which was often) and figuring a way out of it. Yet overall I like the new movies.
