There is a scene where Craig is at a bar, and asked if he "wanted his Martini shaken or stirred"? Craig replied "I don't care". Also gone was the signature Walther PPK.:( The History Channel did a "Tales of the Gun" show on automatic pistols. According to the narrator, the Walther PPK is the most recognized hand gun in the world due to the James Bond movies.
The P99 has been with us since "Tomorrow Never Dies." That's almost 15 years and 5 movies. A walther P5 was used in a couple of movies, but, it looks similar enough to a PPK that few people noticed.

Actually, he sort of tells the story of the cocktail he likes, which is a Gin and Vodka martinin like thing in the Book Casino Royalt.

No, the line isn't "I don't care" - it was more along the lines of, "Do I look like I give a shit?" (He doesn't sweatr but, the tone isn't, "I don't care") after he had just lost a couple bajillion dollars gambling. The point is to show that he's too pissed off to even care if the waiter stirs it with his dick.
Oh, and Taos, Fleming didn't like the choice of Connery until he saw the result of Dr. No, thus he like the portrayal.
End of the day, at least we still have Walther as the maker... no one is bitching that he doesn't still drive an Aston Martin DB5. We've been through Lotus, BMW, Bentley, more Aston Martins, and Jaguars... no big deal.
