No one was bashing the kid, we just had differing opinions on whether the kid is NFL ready right now.

Spurrier meets with Clowney's mom
By Phil Kornblut
Last year's meeting with Marcus Lattimore's mother went a long way for Steve Spurrier in securing the signature of the star running back on a letter-of-intent. Thursday night Spurrier met with the mother of South Pointe DE Jadeveon Clowney at her home. Only time will tell if that meeting will have the same impact. "Clowney had something to do so he got in there kind of late," said South Pointe coach Bobby Carroll. Spurrier is the second head coach to meet with Clowney this month. Alabama's Nick Saban was in last week. A Florida State recruiter also met with Clowney Thursday. Carroll said Ohio State has been in touch about Jim Tressell coming down to see the family. Clowney has taken his official visit to USC. He is scheduled to visit Florida State January 7th Alabama on the 14th. He said earlier in the week his other two visits would be LSU and Auburn. Clowney will be in Myrtle Beach Friday night for the Mr. Football Award announcement.

Clowney sacks Mr. Football Award
South Pointe DE Jadeveon Clowney was named Mr. Football in South Carolina for 2010 at the North-South Awards presentation Friday night at Myrtle Beach High School. Clowney, who is regarded by some recruiting analysts as the top recruit in the country, won the award over a field of eight finalists.
Clowney is an outstanding pass rusher coming off the edge and was also a powerful running back for the Stallions. This season he totaled 171 tackles with 31 sacks. He will play in the Shrine Bowl next week.

Well, if he had not won it I would have hated to play against the guy that did. I wonder if he takes it easy on his teammates during practice. I would develop a severe cramp in for was my time to go one-on-one with him during a team practice.Clowney wins Mr. Football
